Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip. Thanks to mizzouguy for this bottle!

Appearance - Hazy and cloudy orange body. Looks like a Berliner Weisse. Very small head, even in a tulip. A little bit of lacing, but not much.

Smell - Citrus and other fruit sweetness. Very pleasant, without being very strong. Has a hint of pine to it, too, but it's very fruity. It's carried by a hint of malt sweetness.

Taste - The hop flavor isn't as distinct the the taste as it is in the aroma. It fades quickly from the first sip. It's there, just not heavy. Instantly there's a bitterness that carries through the midrange and finish. The malt isn't as sweet as the aroma and really manifests itself in a slight biscuit flavor.

Mouthfeel - On par. Good carbonation, despite the appearance. The bitterness is the lingering flavor, not the more pleasant flavors that faded earlier.

Overall - Good, but A? No. A little rough around the edges. There are other local IPAs I'd drink before this.

Poured from a 12-ounce can into a Spiegelau-shaped Skydance brewery glass, it formed a decent white half-finger head that slowly dissipated. Nice opaque golden color.
It has a floral, piney nose likened to a Coop Alpha Hive or Bell's Hopslam aroma.
The pine is in the flavor. So is an orange zest.
Juicy mouthfeel on the thin side with a tad carbonation.
Nice finish with the abovementioned qualities.

L-Golden/mahogany colored body, medium effervescence, soapy uneven head. Looks great.
S-Floral upfront, sweet malt, green pine, slight orange juice and tropic fruit (mainly mango) at the end. Booze is somewhat there at the end, too.
T-Sweet orange peel, with bitter green piney notes. Very nice. Notes of earth are there too. The floral notes remind me of rose bud, a bit, and the sweetness is very honey-like as well. A nice, juicy fruitiness throughout, and notes of melon and mango are found. The end results in a nice and strong bitterness.
F-Juicy.
O-A really solid DIPA. Triple IPA-like on the flavor, but the finish is cleaner and moreso like a DIPA. Very well crafted and fun to drink. Would absolutely have again.

Poured into a tulip glass from my laundry room freezer. Frosted mugs are always a proper play. Dank hop esters, fresh pinecone, resinous lemon, earthy and vegetal. Slight citrus that is taking a backseat to chalky, woody pine. Different than a lot of dipas coming down the pike these days - less concerned about pleasing collective palettes and true to a distinct mouth juice experience. Hell yes it is good.

Clear, amber color. Big, white head. Pine, malt, and citrus in the aroma. Hoppy taste with a malty backbone. Strong, hoppy bitterness. Good, classic, Double IPA.

Poured a honey gold colored body. A generous thick white head which dissipates quickly.
The lacing is average.
Floral, tropical, and pine and the nose.
Taste is hoppy and citrusy. Also some dank pine. It has an unpleasant aftertaste.
Mouthfeel and carbonation are good.
This is a solid but unspectacular beer and I was kind of surprised it’s rated as World Class!

Light amber, slightly hazy with small creamy head. Mild hoppiness in taste and aroma with some evidence of higher alcohol content. Not as rich and full as some other double IPAs I’ve tried. Good, but not great.

This is a big DIPA! Clocking in at 9.3%, this packs a full-bodied punch. Pours a warm amber-gold. I get a muted candied orange peel on the nose, with some hints of pineapple juice on the back. The sip follows, just the right amount of sweetness and a touch of chewy malt. A filling and rewarding sipper.

12oz can. Bottom lip of can is stamped with the date of '05/06/23'.
Partly cloudy, deep gold colored body. One finger of soapy, white head. Leaves behind rings of lacing.
Aroma is floral, tropical, and pine.
Taste is heavy with hops, with flavors of grapefruit, melon, pineapple, and a little onion. Slightly bitter pine sits in the background. Sweet citrus lasts into the aftertaste.
Nectar-like mouth feel. Residual tongue burn. Very good carbonation.
Sweet and juicy, this was a double IPA I drank regularly several years ago. More West Coast than New England, this beer still delivers a solid but unspectacular session.

12oz can poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Appearance is golden-orange with 2 fingers of white head. Retention is average leaving a lot of light lacing and a cap.
Smell is medium in strength. It smells like orange, mango, grapefruit, pineapple, pine and malt.
Taste is somewhat below medium-high in strength. The taste starts with an herbal flavor followed by hints of mango and maybe passionfruit that's quickly overtaken by a sweet malt base. The malt base becomes drier with a pine hop bitter finish that's not quite medium-high.
Feel is a bit below medium-high in thickness. It's fairly chewy with low carbonation and low astringency.
Overall, it's a very good beer that hides the high ABV well. It's fairly easy to drink. It does a lot of things very well and there's nothing about it that's truly outstanding. It's far from worth the $14.99 for a six-pack that I paid for it at H.E.B..
