Our rich English-style brown ale is smooth drinking and full of malty goodness, with notes of caramel and toasted bread. Great for those shy of the hop and a fan of full-bodied flavorful beer.

22oz bomber bottle #70, batch #115 picked up by a buddy of mine at the Warren Store.
Appearance: Pours a super attractive mahogany with a 2 finger billowy butter khaki crown. The head shows some retention and lace. Sexy.
Smell: Sweet malt and milk chocolate dominate the olfactory profile.
Taste: Loads of flavor going on...a prominent amount of milk chocolate malt take center stage. Some toffee notes and some nutty notes make brief appearances. The tiniest hop note whispers goodbye in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Fairly thin with decent carbonation. On the drier side as the chocolate malt is never cloying. Makes it quite sessionable, but I'd like a touch more body especially with all of this chocolate flavor going on. After all, chocolate milk tastes better than chocolate water so I think a bit more body would give some creaminess to the brew.
Drinkability: Quite sessionable.

Pours a medium brown color with a thick, frothy head that fades down after about a minute.
Aroma is full of sweet malt with a slight amount of chocolate showing up in the nose.
Taste is full of sweet malt with a hint of brown sugar and chocolate. Seems rather dry and not too sweet. Grassiness from the hops is present as well.
Finishes slightly dry and coats the throat slightly. Not too sweet, not too hoppy. Just about right in my opinion.
Enjoyable beer that shows that Lawson's can brew sessionable, thirst-quenching beers.

22oz brown glass pry-top. Hand numbered: Batch 101, Bottle number 49.
Appearance: Reddish brown mahogany with a light tan thick head. Lots of spotting!
Nose: Toasted bread, caramelized sugar, malted milk balls (Whoppers), coffee with cream.
Palate: Palate is really bright and light bodied. Spicy black malt characters are surprising for the color. High-acid hops seem to frame this beer out and the malt has to sneak through as the beer warms on the palate. A fairly short finish, but it's coated in toasty caramelized sugar.
Notes: One of the best brown ales I've had. Surprisingly crisp and easy to drink. The malt doesn't get cloying at any point.

Had this on tap at The Common Man Restaurant in Warren, VT with naproxen :)
Served in a goblet.
Pours a deep amber brown body with a thin one finger light tan head. Very minimal lacing, but there are a few spots on the side of the glass here and there. Smell is quite nutty with a good amount of maple and cocoa powder. Earthy hops and some caramel as well. Taste is very similar to the aroma. Good malty flavor with a solid maple presence. If I was going into this beer not knowing the style, I would definitely guess a Nut Brown. Good creamy feel with a medium to heady body. A very full flavored brown, wih a low abv making this very quaffable...Lawson's is definitely my new favorite brewery.
