Inaugural Pittsburgh Summer Beerfest Announced For Stage AE Complex
Proceeds To Benefit Animal Rescue & Adoption Efforts In Western PA
Pittsburgh, PA – A new Craft beer tasting festival has set it sights on the North Shore. The inaugural Pittsburgh Summer Beerfest will take place inside and outside the entire Stage AE Complex on July 26 & 27, 2013. Attendees will be able to sample over 250 Craft Beers from 80 breweries “that come from down the street and around the country.”, said Craig Johnson the Festival Director of the Pittsburgh Summer Beerfest. “The goal is to provide a fun and comfortable environment where people can sample new styles and beers outside their comfort zone, learn more about the breweries, and to truly celebrate all that is great about Craft Beer. “ he added.
The Pittsburgh Summer Beerfest will be produced by the same folks that have produced the popular Cincy Beerfests (for 7 years) and Columbus Beerfests (for 4 years) in Ohio. 2 of those festivals, the Columbus Winter Beerfest and Cincy Winter Beerfest, were named in the Top Ten Largest Craft Beer Festivals in the U.S. last year with 10,000 and 13,000 attendees respectively. The Goal for the Pittsburgh Summer Beerfest is 5,000 over the 2 night sessions, and to raise $20,000 or more for Animal Rescue Partners.
“Pittsburgh is obviously a fantastic craft beer town, with a booming craft beer support community. We look to create events where all stakeholders….the Craft Breweries…the Home Brewers… Civic minded volunteers…Our non-profit’s mission…and the craft beer loving community WIN. We just bring the scale and event experience needed to create an event that everyone can take pride in, and that will lead to long term success of these events.”
Animal Rescue Partners is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing refuge for stray, lost, or injured animals, to help place adoptable animals in permanent homes, to educate the public about general pet welfare, to help provide emergency sheltering/rescue operations in areas suffering natural disasters, and to make funds available for those not able to pay to have their pets spayed or neutered. “All of the profits from the Pittsburgh Summer Beerfest will be spent in the Western Pennsylvania region either by Animal Rescue Partners or through direct grants made to other non-profit animal welfare groups.”, said Chase Jones, Board Director of Animal Rescue Partners.
