Liquid Lessons with Leanne - Shandies & Radlers
Thursday - May 16, 2013 @ 06:00PM
/ Ends: Thursday - May 16, 2013 @ 08:00PM
Beer Tasting / Release
Craft Beer Cellar
, Belmont, Massachusetts
Want some fun in the sun...and some sun in your glass? Then we have two beer styles for you: shandies and radlers. Shandies are British while Radlers hail from Germany. Both blend beer with lemonade, lemon soda, or some other frivolous fruitiness, and are loaded with bright, tart, quaffable awesomeness.
So how did these two unlikely bedfellows get together? Picture this: it was 1922 in the beautiful countryside of Germany and Franz Kugler (of the Kuglers) was opening an Inn. Kugler built a bike path to the Inn but did not take into account the Germans' passion for biking and beer…until he had 13,000 thirsty cyclists at his door during a bike race! On that day, the lemon soda in his basement came into good use as he mixed it with his beer to keep the patrons happy, and Radlermass was born. In German, Radler means cyclist and mass means brew.
That said, hop on your bike and travel down to Belmont for this tasting. You don't want to miss this fun!
Note: adding yourself to the attending list does not count as RSVPing with the venue.
