An Afternoon of Rare Franconian Gravity Kegs & Drafts + Book Signing w/ Christian DeBenedetti, Author of "The Great American Ale Trail"
We just got word that our good friend, beer writer Christian DeBenedetti, will be coming to ChurchKey on Saturday afternoon, March 16th to sign copies of his outstanding book on all things American Craft Beer, "The Great American Ale Trail"! If you have not read this book and love craft beer, be sure to come by to get yourself a copy, meet the author, and hear about Christian's travels throughout the USA,travels that led to the most comprehensive tome on what is happening in American Craft Beer...the book touches on craft brewers and the bars and restaurants that purvey them, including a good deal of info on DC beer and Birch & Barley/ ChurchKey! Book signing begins at 2pm!
At the same time, we are opening at noon with one of the biggest features of the fantastic craft beers of Franconian, Germany to occur stateside! At least 17 different brews from two of our favorite Franconian breweries--Mahr's & Weissenohe--will be flowing, including 7 different brews traditionally poured from rubber-clad gravity kegs! Included among these 7 gravity brews is Weissenohe Vitac Bior, the brand new, and delicious, medieval-style spiced Bock lager!

More about "The Great American Ale Trail":
From crab shacks and copper-lined brewpubs to farmhouse startups and four star New York restaurants, the book leads readers on the ultimate, coast-to-coast road trip of craft beer. This ambitious project is the first definitive guide to the worthiest places to discover and drink craft beer across the entire United States. With over 400 destinations and suggestions for what to order in each one, it also maps out how those beers relate to the local, national, and international beer cultures and profiles the interesting characters driving the constant innovation. By celebrating the places craft beer culture thrives—breweries, beer bars, bottle shops, festivals and restaurants including some of the country’s highest-rated eateries—this book will show readers where and how to make their own beer journeys, and what to watch out for along the way.
