German Beer Day April 23rd - the real German Beer Day

German Beer Day is a celebration of German beer originating from a tradition in Deutschland since 1987 which celebrates the traditional 'Reinheitsgebot' - the purity law.

One of Germany's favorite warm spring weather beers is synonymous with the day - a traditional wheat beer called the 'Hefeweizen', which in our warm Australian climate is a great beer to enjoy all year around. One Australian boutique brewery has perfected the Hefeweizen recipe. At last year's Australian Hotel Beer Awards, Snowy Mountains Brewery's 'Charlotte's Hefeweizen' was named Australia's best wheat beer, taking out the award over a broad competition of fellow boutique labels.

With Aussies known for their thirst for ale, they usually don't need an excuse to have a few coldies but why not suggest they make a point of asking for a German style beer on April 23rd when visiting their local watering hole?

Local and German expats need only visit www.snowybeer.com.au to find their closest pub or bottleshop stocking the Charlotte Hefeweizen. A slice of lemon to accompany is mandatory!

Prost!
