Anyone know where i can find the bottle date on Zombie Dust? I looked but didn't see anything. Also when did they go to waxing the bottles?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

    Cheers!

Did you possibly get one in a trade that your trading partner waxed?

Apparently so. I'll have to inquire about that bc it looks like a professional job. Anyway, anyone know where i can find the date codes or anything on the bottle?

Don't believe they have dates. Didn't notice them on the bottles I had at least, and I'm pretty sure that none of their beers do.

Thought that might be the case. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated!

I would answer your question, but in order to read it I would have to take my eyes off your avatar, and that ain't happening.

I have yet to have a FFF dated so my bet is there is no date.

FFF doesn't date their bottles. Don't ask questions, just get to drinkin'...

No dates for FFF. Can we see a pic of the waxed ZD?

This might be the new cool thing to do. I received some waxed Plinys. I'm heading downstairs right now to wax my entire IPA collection sitting in my cellar.

Don't flame me if I am asking a stupid question, but why wax a beer that is meant to be consumed right away? Not being snarky, just an honest question.

I don't think this is a stupid question, the same thing occurred to me. I think rfraga77's sarcastic post above yours gets it right.

They lost their bottle dating equipment during the fire.

I just cracked open a bottle of Zombie Dust and there is a code printed in black ink near the base of the bottle: 2245 73E0151. Those first four digits look a lot like a Julian code, which would put this at September 1st. Anyone else with FFF 12oz bottles seeing similar codes, particularly a similar Julian pattern with those first four digits? Would be great if there was a way to decipher the level of freshness on these.

I think that is the bottle production date, not the bottling date of your ZD. I've never seen or heard of FFF bottling their products.

I did not know 3F canned some beers.....

And yeah, no freshness info but if it changes, as always BA, let me know :D

that would be code from when the bottle was made. wont help date when the beer was bottled but would at least help narrow it down

rest is 73(shop) E(line) and time

You know, people are still liking my comment, but just to clear things up the OP used to have a hot chick in his avatar, so my comment made more sense....but now.....well.

The only was you could get an old FFF IPA is if someone bought it and then sits on it, other than that it sells too fast to get old. Especially if it's ZD or Gumballhead.

    Pic or it didn't happen!

(of course I have an ulterior motive for demanding said pic)

Wouldn't worry - Zombie Dust sells faster than they can make it, even if they were running 24-hour around the clock shifts!
