In case you have a job, or kids, or just passed the Postal Exam, you may not have noticed that the top 100 IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT.

    http://beeradvocate.com/lists/popular

How many beers on the new top 100 have you NOW had?

Do you think there will be an increased demand for such previously overlooked club bangers as:

    Wet
    Tweak
    Moe's Bender
    Hop Venom
    Susan
    Nor
    Double Citra
    Morning Wood
    Oud Tart with Cherries
    MZ Final Push

HEARS TO 2013 AND TRYING NEW TOP 100 BEERS!!!

I love the new system. I have been using the "Had" to track everything I drink as I don't have the desire to write a full-out review for everything. I didn't care if my numerical ranking was added to the cumulative score, but I do like that all my "Had"s are marked as reviewed so it's easier to see what beers I've had on Top lists and in the breweries' active beer lists.

More power to all that do - your reviews really help me figure out what beer to go after next!

Actually I just realized one complaint - I don't like the only numerical reviews being posted in the review section of a beer. You should be able to only see actual reviews by default, and then get a full list with another click. The blank 4/5 reviews don't do anything for me.

That list is almost entirely super-hyped trade bait shit from Vermont, Cali, and the midwest now. Good job, everybody in those places. You ruined beer.

I thought that was the whole purpose of the "popular" list. I call it the hipster list.

Went from 3 that I hadn't tried to 8. Good thing I stopped trying to track these down after I completed it a few years ago.

How is it that I live in Wisconsin, don't trade, have had 14 of the beers on the list, and never tried Fourteen Fourteen?

I went from 98/100 to 86/100 but could possibly grab a few of the "new" ones, they were already on my radar. Getting to 100/100 will be close to impossible except for the most Jedi of the tickers on here.

I'm at 95/100...I think I was at 98/100 before. I have pretty much stopped reviewing, so the "had tick" is welcome in my book. :D

Since the ratings now include many more 1oz ticks, I'll include them in my count... 45.

Funny, 16/100 with 6/10 out of the "Hipster Top 10"!

Surprising as it's not a list I check often. Honestly, I found the Top 100 to be a helpful list in finding good examples of styles I enjoyed back when I first discovered BA. Now it's kind of a novelty.:)

I do enjoy the explosive verbal diarrhea this causes "tickers" every time this list changes!:D

The Mayans have not been proven right just because the BA Popular list has once again changed!

the list changed 3 times since I posted this question 90 minutes ago, I am now at 92/100

technically Final Push should be retired since it hasnt been made in 2 years and CCB has not expressed intention of rebrewing it

I won't even say. It's low (not trading and traveling being a real killer) but I'm OK with all that. Thing is. I don't care. Maybe I'd be completely blown away (likely here) if I were to try every one, and surely I'd be happy too, and sure I wonder sometimes. But the thing is, I'm in a good state for craft beer and happy with the choices I have and anyway being at the bottom of the mountain only means I've got lots and lots to be looking forward to and wondering about and trying. Thing is, I don't really care much either way as long as I can find stuff I like....good to have the list too, nice to see the mountain as it were, but got my own turf I like plenty well anyhow, thanks.

I could give a shit about the top 100, honestly. I like the style top lists, better, and I'm annoyed now because they are saturated with a bunch of one-off 'never going to have' brews with 10-30 'reviews' now, vs a reliable list of brews that I have a chance of getting some day. Rabble rabble rabble.
