Would anyone know where to find Kronenbourg beer, a light, refreshing Alsacian beer brewed in France since 1664? I live near Salem, Oregon. Thanks in advance! Michael.

It has been quite a few years since i have seen Kronenbourg 1664 here.
It is a light lager i do enjoy though but I am not sure it is imported here anymore.

Thank you much Reidrover. I remember Kronenbourg is sold as "plain" and as other beers, such as "1664," honoring the special "original" brewing I suppose. The brand was acquired by Carlsberg, the Danish firm. I thought that there must be a bar, perhaps in Portland, where beers "from all over the world" can be consumed. Do you have any knowledge of one of those bars, in Portland or elsewhere in Oregon?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe I saw it on tap somewhere within the past six months. I only remember it vaguely since my brother asked me if I tried it before, which I did in France....struck me quite odd that a PDX bar would have it on tap. Sorry I can't remember which bar it was...will update if it comes back to me.

I guess I will be the one to say it; I cannot think of a reason, aside from nostalgia, to drink that over the plethora of amazing lagers you can find in Oregon.

I don't think kegs are available in Oregon (and can't check because I'm not at work), but bottles are available. It's distributed by Columbia Distributing, and any decent beer store should be able to order a case for you.
