I saw they had one label approved by TABC, what gives? Did they do that just to get a leg in the door? I thought most of the expenditure is getting in here and then after that each label approval is a much lower cost? Can someone shed some light on this (if they legitimately know what they are saying?
Sixpoint will be handled by Favorite Brands in the DFW area, speaking only for us we will be ordering our first shipment within 2 weeks and should receive delivery no more than 2 weeks after that. We are really excited to be bring Sixpoint to the DFW market, I hope everyone is as excited as we are!!
I am really looking forward to Sixpoint. Gorilla Warfare and Righteous Ale will get me through many camping trips.
Silver Eagle is carrying Sixpoint in Houston and San Antonio. It should be hitting shelves this week. Not sure about other markets.
Super lame this is not in Austin. BEK seems to hate breweries with the word 'Point' in their name. Oh Sculpin, how I want you.
Houston doesn't get Balast Point either. That said, Sculpin is overrated anyways. Only DFW is cool kid enough to get their overpriced beer. I hope Austin and other Texas locales get Sixpoint soon.
Sculpin is solid. For the price they just have crazy competition. I get my fix on draft, where the Saucer has it for $3 pint night (same with 471). At retail price Big Eye is better bang... Wish we would get more of that lineup
Maybe I need to try this again, but I had it at Common Table and thought it was middle of the pack. Then I saw the price for a bomber and was floored. I have a Sea Monster in the Cellar and their Victory at Sea was pretty tasty.
Fresh + draft it's tasty. I nabbed very fresh bottles from the first and second shipments...much like Ruination it's a timing thing for me. The booze isn't big enough to hide diminished aroma. Does anyone know the expected pricepoint for Resin, et al?
I think the Specs Houston post yesterday said $8.99 for 4-packs, but I don't know if that was across the board or not
That sounds about right. I think Gabriel's might be slightly less after the cash/debit discount, but not by much (I'll verify when I go into work later). And in case anyone is wondering, all Sixpoint beers should be the same price.
Arrived today at Spec's DeZavala at $8.99 across the board. They got the Resin, Bengali Tiger, Righteous Ale, Sweet Action and The Crisp.
*thinking of reasons to convince my girlfriend to let me go to San Antonio* ME: "Honey, we haven't seen the Alamo in a while!" HER: "WHY are we at this LIQUOR STORE?"
Gabriel's got 20 cases each of Resin, Righteous, Bengali Tiger, Sweet Action, and The Crisp. $8.99 cash/debit across the board. Spec's De Zavala is the only other store in town that has Sixpoint right now. But, you know, Gabriel's is waaaay cooler.
Quick break down... 6 point is with silver eagle in houston and keg one in austin not BEK. Favorite Brands will have it mid sept, waiting on the brewery to fulfill our order. Ballast Point is only in DFW as per the brewery's wishes. They only signed distro for DFW wanting to wait to assign other distributors and make sure they have beer to supply. Hope this helps.
