I have the opportunity to have my family bring home a case or two of bombers back from the Phoenix area this April. I'm looking for what you'd recommend from the west coast breweries that can't be purchased in MN. My favorites are stouts, IPAs and Barleywines. But I am game for trying any great beer. Thanks for your suggestions!
Odell Myrcenary, Odell IPA, Odell Lugene and Left Hand Nitro are great beers (I've got family in AZ). These are all 12oz so if your only looking for bombers, well... Cheers!
If you are in the Tempe or Scottsdale areas, go to Four Peaks brewing company. The food is really good, the atmosphere is fun and the beer is decent. The Tempe location is better than Scottsdale. Enjoy!
You may have Odell distribution but I believe there may be a couple you can't get in MN so may want to look into it, Saboteur or Shenanigans rings a bell. Also it looks like you can get Epic but we have a lot in AZ. Lightning out of San Diego just moved into the AZ market it the past few months, they have a few good bombers. (Black Lightning Porter, Electrostatic Ale) As mentioned Firestone Walker is readily available and have several great beers worth bring home. (Double Jack, Parabola, Abacus, 16th Anniversary, many more) Knee Deep, especially Simtra (TRIPLE IPA) Squatters Outer Darkness (RIS) Local AZ beers Four peaks, Sleepy Dog, and San Tan, all have some beers worth trying. Hope this helps fill your two cases. P.S. Just looked at Seek a Brew Comparison and realized you can't get Alesmith, Oskar Blues, or Dogfish Head either? Tons of good beers obviously.
