You nailed it! I like it a lot more after it gets a little warm. But still smokey as hell! Once the carbonation calms, the true creamy, smooth, silkiness emerges. Much better to let this one sit for a few minutes.

Absolutely. Really coming into their own during this period. Listening to a full concert now: 04-11-1972 Newcastle, England. Cheers!

[IMG]Had a couple Stone IPA's on tap of Biffs and just got home and opened the first Bigfoot of the year. Sucks and Bigfoot this week, Hopslam next week. It's almost enough to help one get through a Minnesota winter. ;-)

The "tea" pot is not lost on me...

Totally agree, they peaked in this era imo, not the popular opinion in my experience, but like I care.

I wish. I'm just a bourbon fan, and a bcs fan. I now know that when I get home, i need to do this combo, but it will be with Woodford.

Not sure how well my meeting tomorrow morning would go if I did this tonight either. :D

What is the alternative here, '77 and '78? Both are strong, but the evolution between 1970 and 1973 is unparalleled, no?

Brooklyn BCS is my wife's second favorite beer with BCBS being the first.
Somehow I believe this splits the difference

Thank you, you just saved my Geico money.

My preference is pre '74 in all honesty.
The gestation & birth of the Dead occurred here.
They matured afterward, but lost a "fat" sound which I prefer.
    Not sure this makes sense.

Bcbs was great, but as long as black chocolate keeps being like 8.50 a 4pack I know my choice. Plus basil Hayden is damn good.

I have an '11 In the cellar that I can't seem to bring myself to break out. Ten Fidy is an amazing beer, but for some reason I wan't to keep sitting on the one left in the stash.

Anyone else think a "Dead Beers" thread Friday to Sunday would gain momentum?
By "Dead Beers" I mean, what are you drinking(pic) & what Dead song/set/show (vid) are you listening to?

To keep this OT, I'm still drinking my first delicious Wake-n-Bake :D

I paid $7.99/4-pack at a local Whole Foods who admitted to screwing up the price, but honored their mistake like a boss!

No lie, I had 3 4-packs in my cart at the time

    It's worth $10/ 4-pack imo.
