Started off the evening (and the new year) with a Duvel - classic and one of my favorites. Thinking I'm going to have to crack open the bottle of bourbon my son bought me for Christmas next, but might end the night with a 2012 BCBS.

    Cheers and Happy New Year!

I managed to drink a ton of ale and champange but balanced it out with soo much grub that even though this is technically my second beer of the day(WnB to bring in 2013 in the am) I was enthusiastic about cracking this beer as soon as I picked up up earlier today.
Dog Fish Head 90 minute IPA! Tastes great!

Or you are in your 40's with 2 young kids and could not go out last night, and your favorite college team is in a bowl game right now.......

BA Speedway was outstanding, batch 2 Chocolate Rain wasn't nearly as good as Batch 1(at least in my opinion), the Crooked Stave was really out there, but I liked it. Tart of Darkness was excellent. Cherry Rye was a big "meh", Black Note from the growler was very tasty. Black Hole Sun was, honestly, the most surprising of the day. It really, really blew me away with how good it was. Olde Rabbit's Foot was very good.

I wish I had a fresh palette for King of the Forest. It was very interesting, and I would love to try it without having anything before. It really reminded me of a sour apple Jolly Rancher.

White Chocolate was flat out gross.

That's why I love craft beer. What you love, I don't like at all. It's all so very personal and subjective.

I had never heard of Black Hole Sun, or even Black Market Brewing. I will definitely seek out more of their beers now.

Started off the afternoon with old reliable, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Moved onto to celebrating the New Year with some Celebration and the wife's chili. Yes indeed!!

Moved onto this one. I like this very much. A very citrusy hop forward Pale Ale.

I've got pics of all of them, just not a pic of all the bottles together(they were still drinking more when I left, probably another 20 bottles to get through).

I'll see about uploading them in a few minutes

I can see people hating WC. It was a sweet boozy mess. For some reason, sweet boozy messes appeal to me.

Know what sucks about this beer?

That I just finished my bottle, I want MORE, but know I won' be able to finish another full bottle of it today, and thus can't rationalize opening another bottle of this gem tonight. Boo.

Well, today I went in to Philadelphia seeing that Hawthornes had Pliny the Younger in a growler fill, so I knew I had to try it just once so I was lucky to get there and have a glass AND buy a growler!

I really liked it too, but I didn't think it was a boozy mess. Boozy, yes.........mess, not so much, thought it was well constructed.
