    Good afternoon from Belgium!

Having this as a reward for a 5-mile bicycle beer run, carrying almost 40 pounds of beer (ten 750s) on my handle bar.

It's okay for an IPA in Belgian terms. Pretty obvious it contains extracts rather than actual hops, the whole thing's pretty chemical. Very refreshing though, I ain't complaining.

Sorry to break the rules, but it's only 6:39 am here, so no beer, just coffee. However, I missed last nights thread due to be being out and eating/drinking at Pizza Port Carlsbad. I had my 299th and 300th beers tried with Pants Optional Pale Ale and Poor Man's Double IPA. Both were delicious if unsurprising iterations of the West Coast hoppy style.

First time trying this. Not bad...but not sure if I'd have it again though...

Out with the flu for several days. Needed a beer badly, so i opened a barrel aged sour red to drink with my room mates leftover mango habanero wings. Jester King RU-55. Bad idea. Wings are making me cough like crazy, and my stuffy sore throat/mucus is destroying the beer. It was great the last time i had it.

With another bottle each of Freedom's Edge X and 1890 under my belt, I'm now sipping on another Lagunitas Sucks. I might hit up my cellar again later since I took the day off.:D

Darn it. You should have had a macro or no beer at all since you're sick. The wings look tasty and I have a high tolerance for Habanero peppers.:p

Through the looking glass. From last night of course, I'm not a lush.

    Or am I.

Free Will Pale Stout, first time with this one. Has to be on nitro, extremely creamy head. I would drink it again.

    My day off, pre-lunch beer:
    Sixpoint's Resin, a DIPA
    [IMG]
Nice lacing as the head receded:
Nicely bitter (103 IBU) with very smooth buttery malts complimenting the resinous hops.

Lunch (my wife's making a quiche lol) is taking longer than expected, so I'm onto another new beer, Dogfish Head's Immort Ale, an English strong ale:
Well, for starters, it's not going to go well with the quiche, so I'd better finish it now lol...

I liked the color (but no head!), and I am a big DFH fan, but this one missed the mark for me a bit - a little too sweet and juicy, with flavors of maple, smoky peat and vanilla coming through; and a little lacking on "bite" - coming in at 50 IBUs, with not much hop presence (I did pick up on the juniper berry infusion, which reminded me of the couple of sahtis I've had). A good beer, but probably not a return to drink for me (other than the bottle I've got in the fridge ;)).

    Cheers!

Boneyard Notorious Triple IPA. I've been lucky enough to try Younger, and in my opinion, Notorious seriously crushes Younger. So insanely balanced for being 12% abv. The other best part about the beer was I didn't have to wait in a stupid line and pay an ungodly amount of money, I got two pours at happy hour prices, $4.75!!!!!!

My shift at work was canceled today, so I figured I'd start early. Got a malt liquor to start off with, Big Hurt Beer, followed by Troubadour Magma, Westmalle Dubbel, Fort Collins The Incredible Hop (650 mL), and Spaten Optimator. Sadly, this finishes up my recent "blitzkrieg"-like effort to acquire new brews for my collection. Cheers!

Great brew. And I hate to leave a man to drink by himself, so I'm joining you with a Spaten Optimator!

I will be having the same beer from the same glass later tonight. Found one of those in the back of my cabinet not too long ago and it's been my go to glass for ipas ever since.

And I love me some hop devil. So easy to get around here and for so cheap. Get it fresh and I would put it toe to toe with the best.

Their Hop Wallop is also top notch IMO. Victory brews are pretty readily available in the Memphis area as well (thank God), so I usually pick up one or two of their beers every two or three times I make a beer run.

In case anyone is worried about Heady from the newly expanded brewery - don't be. This is the hoppiest one I've had in a long time.
