Five weeks from yesterday release. Really interested in trying this one. Another wallet crusher.

I wonder if this will see distribution like blueberry did. If it doesn't a bottle limit may save your wallet.

No matter the distro, the Vlad is an impaler...one of the finest brews from the NW period...

Is Vlad the full name? What brewery is it from?

Is cascade fairly easy to get in WA?
  11. yojimbo1 Member

Much easier than when I lived in California.
  12. CA_Infidel2o9 Member

It's right out, nonexistent here. I was just curious if i walked in a bevmo or something in WA, would there be a selection of their brew on the shelf?

Probably not at bevmo, total wine or any grocery stores but bottles shops tend to get it in every so often.

    I c, thnx.

Best place to get it is probably Chuck's. He gets like 20 cases every time it comes around. Currently have Apricot, Kriek, and Blueberry. We had Noir until about 3 months ago, and The Vine until about 2 months.

Cascade is very easy to get in Seattle. But please, no walking into BevMo for beer. Many many small business purveyors to support.

I'll be living at Ft Lewis which appears to be near dupont and about a 25 minute drive from both olympia & tacoma. I plan on going to all the small businesses, i just used Bevmo as an example because were i live now, bevmo is my best resource for good beer.

Last Drop also has a great track record with Cascade releases. But, if you're down at Joint Base Lewis/McChord, your best bet for Cascade is 99 Bottles in Federal Way.

Yeah, this is probably the 100th time someone has recommended it to me. So i'm pretty sure it's gonna be my go-to spot.

Not saying i dont appreciate the recommendation csano, thnx.

Yes and no. Up here in the vast wilderness of Whatcom County, we get kegs regularly at a couple of places. Bottles show up here and there as well. That said, I don't recall ever seeing Vlad up here. The closer ya are SEA-TAC and PDX (and you'll be plenty close) the better your would seem to be.

To my knowledge Vlad has never seen distribution until apparently this year.
  24. CA_Infidel2o9 Member

Just realized PDX = Portland? According to google map, i'll be no where near there. Looks like i'll be right by Dupont.

EDIT: removed alot of pointless rambling. Lol

Time-wise, you'll be as close to PDX as you be to the North-end/Everett area. It's only a couple hours south on I-5. It's only a 5 hour drive from up here in boonies.

Check out Amtrak and the Bolt bus for non driving options.

Sounds like portlands a must, hopefully ill get a chance to go down there a few times and check out HotDs brewery. I've never had any of their beer.

Cascade is walking distance from HOTD. It makes for a great day.
  30. CA_Infidel2o9 Member

Awesome, i'll definitely be taking the amtrak or spend the night at a hotel when i go, as i will be in no shape to drive. ;)

Agreed, but it kinda makes me sad you can't drink on the premises. Or has that changed since I was there last?

Either way, best and pretty much only beer nerd place south of Seattle and north of Tacoma.

and Sassy's is only a block away from cascade. 2$ pints before 7 and hipster strippers, what more could you want ;)

FWIW, My cousin just called me from PDX, picking up some bokkles for me before he comes up for the holidays. It sounds like Vlad will be bottle-conditioned for six weeks before they release it for sale. (Got me some Blueberry and Noyaux, instead.)

"Vlad the Imp Aler is conditioning nicely and we are looking for a late January/early February release - you'll know more when we do. Vlad will be sold online!"

They originally said Blueberry was going to be Barrel House and Online-only, but then it showed up here in Seattle at the usual suspects.

In eastern Washington it's easier to get a unicorn's tusk than a Cascade beer.

I wish I could like this more! Sassy's is awesome, though Casa Diablo is the best spot in Portland!

I've only seen blueberry on the shelf.
