Heading to Victoria this week from Portland.

Any advice on places to go and beers to watch for in Victoria?

First beer stop in Victoria should always be the Drake Eatery. The Churchill and/or Garrick's Head are probably worth checking out too. Brewery-wise, most don't have tasting-rooms, growler fill only, an exception being Moon Under Water where you can sit down and drink some good beer; if you're up in Saanich, Category 12's tasting room is worth a stop too.

Like in Portland, most restaurants here will have at least a decent selection of local beer. If you're looking higher-end, Olo has amazing food and always at least one Driftwood sour in their cellar. Prima Strada makes a damn good pizza and their locations on Bridge street and Fort street have a good selection of taps.

If you're going shopping, there might still be some Nectarous floating around if you look hard enough, my store just sold out of ours yesterday. Juxtapose is around, maybe some De Auras kicking around too. Fat Tug is always everywhere and always delicious.

We definitely should have some of those very helpful "Visiting X" seasonal threads as you do in the PNW forum. While that doesn't happen, these two threads might also be useful, even if a little old.

Also, several of the beers mentioned in this and this thread as available in Vancouver are also available in Victoria.

    Enjoy your trip.

Some beers I really enjoyed visiting a few years ago were Fat Tug IPA, and two saisons, Deckhand and Farmhand.
