I just recently heard about this beer, and it sounds good. Does anyone have any information on whether they are planning on a batch 2? It sounds like the first batch was limited to about 400 bottles and few have any lying around.

I've heard talk of them doing another batch at some point in the future.

Still got one bottle left in the garage. Fremont had a keg for Seattle Beer Week in May and then again in October for their expansion party, so I'm sure they've got one or two left.

Sounds good - any chance you're looking to unload that bottle?

They are planning to brew it again I heard sometime this year, then it has to age, so maybe 2016.

Love Rusty, wish it was annual.

Sorry to say, most people out here seem to share your perception of it OP. It was at the top of my list of beers to try at the expansion party, but even though I got there less than an hour after the event started, it was long gone.

I'm hoping they brew it again as well!

Thanks for great love about the old rusty nail. We have brewed the regular nail again and it will be released on Valentine's Day after aging in the bottle for many months to tone down....rusty nail is currently in barrels and will likely need some more time to achieve "release quality" but we are diligently tasting every two months or so  I'd say Haloween this year would be a good goal but the beer lets us know when she is ready.

With a name like "Rusty" I assumed this beer would be a he.

Any updates on that rusty release? Would make this Saturday that much better...

Nope. Bbomb sounds like a Black Friday release, though.

Still got one bottle of Rusty left. Anyone had it lately?

Rusty is coming along well but still needs more time. She likes to wait until the flavors mellow and integrate. I am hoping we can see a Valentines release next year but the barrels will decide. Thanks for caring.

I just noticed the Fremont beer release calendar you linked to indicated Rusty would not be returning until this summer. Is that really so? Is this what the barrels have told you in...January??

Motion to delete this thread. A second motion for a silent Rusty release.

    That is all.

So except for an elite few no one buys it. Who exactly is the winner, anyway?

I don't think an elite few win with an unnanounced or announced-day-of release. I'd certainly hope not. To the contrary, it prevents people from making plans to line up, and from mobilizing friends and loved ones to line up too. It helps prevent FOMO because there is no advance hype to the date. So it should actually help the more casual beer fan have a shot at grabbing it.
