Peppers in beer make as much sense as pineapple on pizza.

what's the obsession with trying to age beers? This beer is delicious and its not getting any better. Drink it now, don't ruin it.

Our local Bevmo was stocking the shelves with 3 cases of this stuff and the 18th anniv ale. I have a bunch if anyone is looking to trade for some.

Where in VA? Norm's has it if you're in northern VA. Or at least they had it, don't know if there is any left.

Norm's sold out yesterday. I was waiting for my Merkin and recommended it to a few guys that bought the lot up. Maybe one bottle left from what I saw. Total Wine had a lot but if that fails then PM me, I have some.

    Amen.

I bought a few more bottles today. I still say that it reminds me of a dirty chai. Solid stuff.

I bought 2 bottles assuming I was going to love it, but I actually liked it a lot less than I anticipated. In the bottle I got the pepper flavor was definitely the dominant one, and I was hoping it wouldn't be. Not bad, but just not up my alley. Now I have to find plans for bottle number 2!

To the people tasting the pepper as the dominant flavor, are you drinking this beer cold? I usually drink my stouts at room temperature and the pepper is the flavor that I least picked up on. Then again, I eat chili peppers literally every single day so I am probably very desensitized to any subtleties of it.

Just echoing the previous post—temperature is key with this beer, and too cold, it isn't half what it is when it's warmed up. I don't like overly prominent chili in my stouts, and thought that flavor was very mild here once it had warmed.

Oh yeah it definitely got better as it warmed. I always start chilled and slowly work a beer until it's warmer just so I don't miss anything. But this one just didn't do it for me unfortunately
