Just picked up my T-shirt from the brewery! Things are really looking good......Can't wait for them to open up! http://www.societebrewing.com/wordpress/
and then both of them at the Bruery! Really looking forward to the whole deal. Can't wait to try their beers
From everything I've read, they're cutting no corners and have a big chunk of change raised to do it right. I'm very pleased they're here and will be opening. That being said...I figure it'll take a solid year for them to REALLY get going. Hop contracts etc...some supply issues starting mid year...but then...BOOM!
I remember hearing they would be focusing on IPAs and sours. Makes sense to me for a San Diego brewery.
When I was in San Diego area last month I was able to stop by the brewery and meet up with Dougie. Got a quick tour and was really impressed with their plans. They've done everything new from the ground up and really put their money to good use. I hope they're tremendously successful in the future and they can't go wrong with doing killer IPA's and sours in the SD area. The bar area is going to look great when its done! Looking forward to opening day down the road. Oh yeah... the shirts are pretty nice. I picked up 3 myself (2 for me, 1 for the lady).
Straight from their website: "Societe will focus specifically on IPA’s, wine-barrel aged sours, and Belgian inspired brews handcrafted on a 20 barrel brewhouse."
Really looking forward to Doug and Travis getting their first batches out, and the brewery is looking mighty impressive so far. I hope they don't put rose petals and beets in their beers.
I work 2 minutes' walking distance from there (I've timed it). To say I'm stoked would be an understatement.
Totally stoked for another great brewery in SD. They have the least interesting brewery blog I've ever seen, though.
Pics of tractors and 30 year old Coors cans. What's not to like? On a side note, anybody know the actual pronunciation of this place? I don't think I've heard it the same way twice.
