I picked up another 4 pack at the Specs on Bay Area... I know some aren't big on this beer, but I really liked it..

Same here. I just wish it would of been released in the summer time. Perfect for grilling and chilling. This time of year I'm a bourbon, scotch, barleywine and stout kinda guy.

and there might be.. I have no idea where I read or heard yellow and blue..... if there are going to be four versions even better... so what are the green, blue and black going to be?

Just catching up on this discussion but if ICON is as tasty as say NB's Lips of Faith series we are in for a fucking treat! And I have every reason to suspect ICON will be better.

That said has this reached DFW yet? I have a couple local mix and match sixer trades to fill out

I can't agree with you more. I really enjoy ICON Red but it would have been nice if it came out during the summer because it would be great for drinking while grilling.

I'm not complaining that it came out when it did because it is delicious. I just think it would be even better on a hot summer day.

Just did a search on Untappd and if you search Saint Arnold Icon, Icon Red, Icon Blue and Icon Yellow show up... and blue and yellow show the styles.. Blue is a black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale and Yellow is a Pilsner..

    It looks legit.

Had this at the FW Saucer last night, $3 pint to boot. Hopefully SA can continue to improve their exposure in Fort Worth..it would be nice to see 2-3 taps regularly dedicated to SA.

Excellent sessionable brew. Balanced and tasty, not my particular favorite style but worth picking up a six pack.

Doubt it - Blue was posted 8 days ago, in College Station no less.

Oh.. I'm not sure if the actual reviews are good or people knew what they were trying.. but the logo is right.. would be weird for someone to take the time to post these on their own.. but there are weird people out there.

The first review for the blue shows up as posted at Saint Arnold Brewery

and the Yellow was put up but there are no reviews.....

Well, there have not been any reviews, until mine just now;)

Surprised no one had done the red review here...

As for the blue.. I'm guessing they were in the untappd system and someone just put the review for the red on the blue... since it isn't out yet...? Or someone is just playing us.

Now I need to go and review the red here.

AND someone needs to take a pic of the bottle and upload it.. I wish the files didn't need to be so small...

Icon blue and yellow have yet to be brewed. I don't know if we have someone in house uploading those into untappd or someone outside has done it. Blue is a cascadian dark ale, but I haven't heard anything about yellow being a pilsner.

As supplies of the first Saint Arnold Icon (Red) run out, the brewery will be rolling out it blue label Icon, a Cascadian Dark Ale inspired by the winner of the 2012 Big Batch Brew Bash -- a black IPA brewed by Pete Garza of the Bay Area Mashtonauts. Should be hitting stores some time next week.

Here are the upcoming labels for the Icon Series for anyone who hasn't seen them. Not much to look at but at least you can see the styles.

They were said to be? You didn't try either one? Also, BB1 is drinking absolutely fantastic right now, and I wouldn't describe Pumpkinator as thin... ever.

Never had BB1 or 2. 2012 Pumpkinator was much better than 2011. The only thing lacking from it, IMO, is a thick viscous body.

I can name maybe 20 beers (out of about 5,000 different ones I have tried) where I would describe the body as thick and viscous, so that's a pretty high expectation. I don't think Pumpkinator is thin, or inappropriate for style, but to each his own.

    Cheers,
    Chad

It does have way too much nutmeg though... Hoping that subsides with age.

    mmm Nutmeg....

Excited about the rest of the Icon series... I'm a big fan of the red... I just keep picking up 4 packs when I'm out and I also did a growler fill at Premium Draught last weekend.

Green is sometime in June and yellow is in Sept, so technically still summer.

Awesome. I didn't think I'd need to go to Spec's again today after the tons of stuff I picked up there yesterday. Looks like I'm going back for more.
