Hey hey...heading to Reston, VA and DC. Any recommendations on local brews and bottle shops?

Definitely hit Ocelot if you like hoppy beers. Their stout and porter are both excellent as well.

Norm's is the well known bottle shop in the area.. In the Tysons/Vienna area so just about right in between Reston and DC

Ocelot is a definite. Norm's is also a great suggestion. I would also consider heading to Dominion Wine and Beer. They have a fantastic growler selection and all of the beers they have are great. Dominion doesn't have the same selection as Norm's, but everything they stock is very good.

The Wine Cabinet is a nice little shop in Reston that gets some good stuff in.

Whole Foods in Reston has GBS by the case currently...Ashburn Wine Shop has some good stuff too, smaller shop

Can't recommend Ocelot enough, @beernuts knows his stuff!

If you are heading into DC, and into some lighter, somewhat funkier stuff, consider Right Proper. If you are looking to hit some bars in DC, RFD is near Verizon center for a varied selection and more of a social atmosphere, especially if the Caps or Wizards are in town.

Oh, and definitely another vote for Ocelot, although Old Ox and Lost Rhino are maybe a tad closer. Also, World of Beer in Reston has a nice selection (thought quite loud).
