Thanks guys. A friend who is a new member wants to offset club prices by selling me his sours. I am down for this and should look for a price list from the Bruery. In your opinions should I stay away from anything he may be offering.

Mother Funker is one good beer. BUY BUY BUY.

Though I have to say, Otiose wasn't as good as Sans

MF is quite the polarizing beer. I know some people that just love, love, love, love it. But then again I know some people (myself included) that think it's absolutely insidious. IMO it is by far the worst sour they have ever made. Tastes like table vinegar and lemon juice, with a bit of battery acid in the finish. The reviews are all over the place. I expect their sours to be much better this year, as they hired a new cellar/barrel man last year, and he spoke in an interview about how he finds acetic character in beer to be a serious flaw. Hopefully that means they'll tone down the Heinz White Vinegar flavors in many of the sours coming out this year.

Be on the serious lookout for these ones though:
    Kumquat Sour in the Rye
    Cherry Oude Tart
    Blueberry sour (still unnamed)

I'm with dom - The only people who love MF are the ones who aren't sensitive to acetic acid in their beer. I think it's a huge flaw for a beer of that style so I really don't like it.

Reuze is a much better beer than MF in my opinion. Sans and Sour in the Rye are the best. Tart of Darkness, Oude Tart and Otiose and a step below. Hoping the cherry OT is on par with Sans and SitR. I'm in the minority liking Ichigo. Wish they would put BeRazzled and Smaak in bottles. I believe all are 20 off the shelf. 17 for RS and 16 for hoarders.

I think otiose is the sleeper from them. I absolutely love that beer and find it to be almost perfect. It's less sexy than some of their other bottles, but I'd drink it over almost anything they have to offer in terms of sours.

    Just my .02

I agree with you, but I believe we are in the minority. Otiose reminds me of Consecration at times. It is not popular at all, but I'm glad to have plenty of it. I think I'll open right now in fact.:D
