was 11.99 here in vegas
It's $14/bottle at the brewpubs. Also, Deschutes posted on their Facebook page that it should be $12-14 retail.
Can I piggyback here. Is abyss fairly easy to find? Should it be something I could get easily in a trade since they don't distribute here?
I would put it in the moderately limited realm next to Parabola (i.e. made once a year, some people want it for verts and it is really fucking good)
I would agree with this. I has just started hitting distribution, so its a little early to say how long it will stay on the shelf. I spent a few hours today traveling around picking up bottles. Some stores said they only got a case at a time (but have received two shipments already). Some shops had it hidden behind the counter and I had to ask for it, while at least one had it on the shelf.
MN got way less this year, which has me nervous I won't be able to get as much as I hoped.
Have you heard how much we got? Looks like Zipps only got two cases which is discouraging...
haven't heard how much, but firkins only got two cases two, was there much left at zipps? I guess I am going to go hunting tomorrow morning.
I went hunting this morning with some success and found out other stores might not even be getting their alotments til next week.
No clue about this year, but last years was A LOT harder to find than Parabola in CO. I'm hearing even less of it in the state this year....
it was super easy last year to get a good amount over a few weeks, there were places with it just sitting on the shelf. this year everyones allocation is way less which bums me out because this is one of my most favorite beers.
Shoot, there was quite a few 2011 at a local bottle shop here until about a month or two ago. I was picking one up here and there until one day they were all gone. I'm guessing someone swooped them up.
At least 100,000 bottles. Don't stress.
well MN last year it was easy to find a good amount, this year everywhere has single bottle limits and stores that got 5 cases last year got 2.
Deschutes is saving it all to DUMP ON ILLINOIS IN JANUARY. WOOOOO.
Princeton's was sold out in 12 minutes
We got quite a bit...picked this up tonight.
Like I was saying earlier, we had 2011's here up until a couple months ago.
Resisting the urge to post a Hank Hill "shock/surprise" meme.
ONE perk of living in the "country" in WA.
If only "country" (aka South of I-80) IL afforded these same luxuries. Hopefully soon...
I think it may be our proximity to OR maybe? I don't know, all the Deschutes special releases sit for a long time here. My guy wouldn't give me that if he didn't have a lot. He said he put it on the shelf this morning and not one had sold at 7pm.
$95 Southwest round-trip booked...
Seriously though, if you end up with more than you can drink shoot me a BM. I'd be happy to trade for a few...Abyss is my favorite (semi) regularly available stout.
what does a case cost?!
Per bottle cost in IL?
Although I did send most of it to other BA's that can't get it, so I didn't have to cover all of that.
they don't have deschutes yet, I think January they go into that market.
FWIW, beaver liquors in Avon had some abyss around new years last year, if that's close to you
I was told only 16 cases made it to the state.
I paid $14.49 per bottle and $14 per bottle at 2 different locations.
In WA, Abyss was a bit tougher to find than Parabola. Parabola sat around for awhile, while Abyss came and went within a week (on the same day for most spots near me).
