I am using the regulator with two gauges and a screw in the middle. however, when I attempt to purge the keg with gas, CO2 is shooting out the middle of the regulator from the post with the red tab that says "lift once a month". Is this normal? If I am supposed to leave this @30psi for a couple of days it would be leaking a lot of gas, to the point where I can smell the gas. Please help

I am not quite clear about your specific regultor, but it sounds like you have it turned up too high and are setting off the "emergency release."

Is it coming out of a valve on the side? This valve is there to blow off when you crank it too high.
30PSI does not seem too high but you never know.

edit: valve on the side of the regulator. Can you post a link to the specific regulator you have?

I had this happen with me... the knob was set out all the way. I just had to dial it back in.

That makes sense too although I never did that one.
