I think you guys are confused here.

The Hoptacular awards it's Top 3 based on a popular vote. Attendees all get a vote.

FoBAB has and will continue to have some of the best certified judges in the world and brewers working together to score and pick winners for their categories blind.

Edit: Each category is judged by a mix of judges (usually ones that specialize in their given category) and brewers (Who cannot judge a category they have beer entered in).

    Huge difference.

That was my point about the hoptacular, which resulted in some decent beers being crowned.

Right. I sensed a touch of sarcasm from you.

I was largely responding to Marcat (In a friendly manner).

The Hoptacular homebrew comp was judged by BJCP judges, they had 6 bottles of each entry, most comps are only two bottles so they had plenty.

I'm waiting for 5 Lizard to actually put out a beer that I enjoy. I've tried most of them and they are all mediocre IMHO. i guess the GABF judges and I disagree.

WLV Liquors has a nice array of JK beers most of the time. You should head over there sometime if you enjoy some of the beers at FOBAB.

Just wanted to see what people's preferred method of transportation will be on Saturday? According to Google Maps, it looks i'll be taking Brown --> Red ---> Get off at Sox/35th and taking the 35 Bus to the Arts Center.

Or maybe I'll just say eff it and pony up for a cab. Would be much quicker.

I am taking the Halsted bus to 35th and walking over half a mile... but that is because I live right near Halsted.

that's what i'm also doing from lincoln square. it's a long 75-90 minute trip.

hopefully i'm able to find my way back to the train after or there's a $40 cab ride in my future.

I guess it depends on where you are coming from. I have evening session and if we stop to eat somewhere that could change the method.

But, from the North Side there are a few options. I think overall the Red to 35th would be fastest. If the 35th St bus isn't coming then cab it.

We will probably be taking either the Red to 35th or the Halsted bus.
