Was there around 6pm. They got 4 cases in and when I was there had 2.5 cases full around $25 a 4pk. Only allowing 1 4pk per customer at this point. They also had in 4 Calling Birds from the Bruery for $15 and just got in Maine Brewing Co. Pepper Ale (not priced yet).

I've always found the people at Greenwich and Lebanon Bourbon Streets very helpful. Haven't really shopped at the Flemington location.

Full disclosure: I did buy some BCBS, despite my crazy ranting. And I'd buy a case of Juliet in a heartbeat for almost any price. So I'm also a hypocrite.

I'm starting to think yaknowbrady was right in that there is a ton of bourbon county coming to NJ.

At least 10, with no leftovers, based on his trade offer. I'd say a case, and I'm willing to bet we don't get a liquor store named in the thread either...

There are still 4-5 cases sitting on the floor at Totowa W&B.

Total Wine in River Edge hasn't even gotten theirs yet.

Lots of stores are talking about expecting a 2nd round of deliveries.

    There will be tons.

Can't say that's surprising, CR is $35-ish a bottle to RS members only. Take into account the bottle count (http://beerservedrare.wordpress.com/bottle-counts/) which is less than 1000 bottles, compared to about that many bottles of BCBS which have already likely been sold in NJ so far (which is an extremely conservative number, at only about 40 cases). Your trade offer, straight up, is unbalanced. There's next to no rarity value attributed to BCBS, especially this years vintage, because 5x more was made this year than any other year prior.

Maybe if CR was sold and distributed nation-wide, sold for $20-25 a bottle, and produced even 1/4 the amount of bottles of BCBS, you might have a shot with that offer.

Ab-InBev is trying to produce as much BCBS per year as they do Honker's Ale, and this is just the first wave. Price per bottle aside, would you trade Honker's Ale for Chocolate Rain?

We're not in danger of running out, this is the first wave of their year-round availability push. Don't you think that if BCBS sells as good as Bud Light, at 5x the price per volume, with 10 times the shelf life, that InBev will make sure that everybody and their mother will be able to purchase it whenever they please?

ISO: 30-pack of BCBS cans, please.

Maybe that could crush the rare= quality paradigm? I know, though, if that if it becomes that available the inevitable backlash will commence...

I don't think so. There are plenty of comparable quality brews out there that are highly available, I think that it will just bring the trade value down, which only matters to us traders who've been struggling to get it for years and offering up some of our best beers, and can now just go down to the local store and pick it up ourselves.

And everybody said that the buyout was a bad thing...

I was told today by my high grade salesman (for what its worth) that they only got 30 cases are so, and no account is getting more than 1 case (I am getting none). Only accounts who carry the full GI line are eligible to be allocated a case. High Grade seems to always get the short end of these rare releases. My salesman said that the distributer that handles Gary's in wayne, who got all those cases, is actually owned by AB (one of the very few not independantly owned) and that is in part reason they got so much more, who knows, just relaying what i was told for those in high grade's area, it may be scarce here

that makes sense, lucky duders who nab'd a case from Gary's!

That was the case --- up until about 20 years ago now, when A-B closed their north Jersey wholesale operation.
A-B to sell off distribution system in New Jersey - Modern Brewery Age, February 1, 1993

I guess news travels slow inside the AB wholesale network:eek: .

(Note too it's not listed on AB's wholesale operations webpage.)

According to records on the 'net, Northern Eagle is owned by Steve Reale, who was previously an Anheuser Busch VP and Manager (among other positions), so he probably does have a few phone numbers in his Rolodex, and some friends in the right places.

Any places along the Jersey Turnpike/Garden State that still have a bunch (taking Tappan Zee)? Driving from PA to CT tomorrow and would love to snag a 4-pack or two.

The Buy Rite in Cranbury got some in, one bottle per person. Little far for me just to get one bottle.

A certain fine-food grocery store's liquor, beer and wine department (in a separate building across the parking lot) in Cherry Hill on Route 70 just received a shipment for a few cases. (1) 4-pack per person, $22 per. Likely going FAST.

    Rhymes with Shmegmans.

I hope Joe Canal's West Deptford gets it next week too. Although, Canal's liquors in Woodbury got Founders Breakfast Stout in before them.

Just a side note and word of caution. Always check bottle dates. Was in Canals Woodbury other night saw they had about 4 12 packs of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale on the floor. Kid from back said it just came in. I thought it was a tad early for it. Cracked open the box and checked out the date on label...2011! Informed the manager and she told the worker to remove it immediately. I left so i dont know if they got rid of it or not.
