Wegmans is out. Sucks, I am there every week and thanks to this post I didn't get it. It seems like the cherry pickers come out when this stuff gets put on here. Bear in mind that for every person posting here, there are about 20 more that read this and never say a word. Someone actually cursed out the beer guy at Wegmans.....

...what people will do for beer.

I got mine coming from north Jersey.

Glad I got my GI BCBS, no.limits last Friday in NY state (Westchester county). Didn't feel like jumping thorough hoops in NJ for it

Yeah, this thread is widely followed, as was obvious by the four people that were walking around wegmans at 5:15 with four packs (it was one per person) in their hands (the original wegmans post came out around 4:15 or so I think). Even saw a fellow BA there who acknowledged hearing about it from this thread. That said, still love the thread for info on what's new in NJ as a whole. If Canals Bellmawr has it though, I imagine a lot of places eventually will. One can always order online at Total Wine once it's in stock and essentially reserve it to pick up at your leisure. That's worked for me in the past, especially since I work in Philly and can't hit up the stores in NJ during the day. Of course, not everything they keep behind the counter makes it to their website... But always worth a shot.

yeah i struck out around 6:45 as well : /

when i called and talked to them at around 4:30 they had two cases.. so that went by the looks of it in under 1 hour

often when i know a shop has some special releases i'll pm some people i talk with often as opposed to putting it on the open, not that it matters so much with such a limited release b/c it's always gone in a matter of min's... always tomorrow.. some shops will surely be getting it in..so hit the phones and hopefully everybody that struck out like me finds some

    cheers..

oh can't wait to try some Zoe!

Steve, you should have BM'd me... I was sitting around all day not doing much. I have no desire to chase this whale. I'll wait till next year when it's at every corner store for like 20 bucks a 4 pack. Oh well. If you hear of any shops getting it tomorrow. I work till 4. So, if you need me to pick you up some lemme know. I actually was prolly there as they had it, I got my hair cut at the hair cuttery at 5:15. Went to Wegmans first so was prolly there at 4:45-5. Picked up and am enjoying some Nosferatu now.

Can someone explain to me what a whale beer means? which wegmans are you talking about alefish?

Wine Works has a different distrib than Wegmans Cherry Hill has. Trust me, I'm the beer guy at Wegmans :ducks:

Konrad sent their BCS out this week, I've heard Ritchie and Page start tomorrow through next week for Burlington and the rest of their territory. I'm assuming they got a lot more than Konrad did (48 cases total). We were one of 3 stores to get the maximum allotment, and that was only 3 cases.

Next time you guys come into the store, say hey.

Moby dick. Trying to find an elusive beer/whale. Like mivy dick and limited beers. A waste of time.

I don't really understand the need for secrecy or sense of entitlement. If the beer is delivered, why not help everyone out and give the heads up, so those who're searching can find some? Like I said before, this is first wave, and it'll be flooding the area soon, so for early birds who are hustling to get some of the first shipments, good for them. I'm not condoning treating the staff like shit, but just because its your local shop that you frequent the most doesn't mean that its your beer for the taking.

WineWorks was supposed to get theirs today, but I think Burlco is now next week.

Agreed 100% Brady. Just because its 'your' shop, dosent mean 'your' shop isn't someone else's shop. I still wanna know why the guy was berating the staff? When does that become ok?

yeah it's not cool to berate the shop, cherry hill wegamns is doing nothing but good things for craft in the area.. they pretty much always have the best prices around too

I totally would have but i wasn't aware they got it in till i saw Brady's post. I called them and asked if they could set a 4 pack aside and was told they weren't going to. I then asked if he believed it would be all gone by 7pm and he said probably not, so i was hopeful that they would still have some left by that time but it wasn't to be. I'll be on the lookout today for some other stores in Camden county i guess if Burlington isn't getting any till next week.

Love me some Fresh Hop. Had it at the brewery when I went to GABF last year. Hopefully the bottles are just as good.

And this is why it helps to post. I know that we could have a giant private conversation for just us, and that's fine. But while my post did inform others here that are lurking in the background, waiting for info to drop, it also gave a lot of deserving folks a fighting chance to score some of the first wave.

And Steve, not directed at you or anything, just using your quote as an example. Cheers!

With ya 100%.. that's why i had created the First and Second NJ Threads was to find out when stuff landed as having people out at the shops is a lot better than having to call 10 places and then getting the beer people all flustered and telling lies about if they have a beer or don't... b/c that was happening.. might still happen though i haven't really encountered it since CBS hit last October & a little bit with KBS in March.

This is from the Haul Photos thread, regarding BCBS in NY state. We're going to be flush with the stuff, and soon...

Bought a 4-pack at wine & bev in totowa last night. 4+ cases on the floors, 4-packs in the fridge, and on the shelves. $24.99 per 4-pack or $8 for a single bottle. The guy was replenishing stock from the back so it appears there is plenty.

WineWorks has BCBS in. 23.99 a 4 pk. Limit 1 4 pk per person. Said they expect it to be gone this afternoon. Surprising on the good price from WineWorks!

I will say and I'm sure some here will agree, but Celebration ale a few years out is still pretty tasty.

The term "white whale beer" would make a lot more sense.

I'm sure that is the term used. I was being lazy on my smart phone. So I just abbreviated it as whale.

The Wine Legend in Audubon has BCBS, looks like they had 3 cases $23.99 and there didn't seem to be any limit. Only the first case was open, I grabbed 2 packs. They also still had a single bottle of Bitches Brew on the shelf if anyone is looking for it.
