Former coworker (and current ABI employee) posted this on her fb page today.

Its what it is, if it was a hot day at the lake or I was hanging out by the pool I'd give it a try. Award winning craft blahblah? No, of course not. I'm sure chicks will love it

Why it a strawberry-lime beer "nonsense", yet some beer geeks go nuts for pumpkin, coffee, chocolate, peach, and dozen of other flavors in their beers?

Two of these will be enough to get any party started. Intriguing from a marketing point of view. Just hope it won't be cloying like Wild Blue.

Was more referring to the fact that after a 6% Bud Light, there's now a 8% Bud Light

Its more on the line of a canned margarita than a beer.

    That honestly sounds pretty good.

The original "Bud Light Lime-a-Rita" from AB is also 8% (apparently there's a 6% version for ABV limit states).

on the short term it should be a pretty successful product. might not be a bad play, coming out with a different fruit margerita beer each summer. in terms of forecasting demand, it'd be a nightmare of ABI though.

I'll probably end up buying some for my wife. Probably would be decent with an oz of tequila in it.

I know the arguments on these boards are cyclical and numerous, but for the sake of good if we aren't allowed to make fun of Straw-Ber-Rita (which, asbolutely yes Jesskidden, it is more ridiculous than a coffee, chocolate, peach whatever from whoever) than I just don't know what kind of world we are living in anymore. It is called Straw-Ber-Rita. People will drink it. People will like it. That is fine. That doesn't make it above mockery.

This stuff really moves though in the summer months so I can see why they would release something like this.

OH MY GAWD, GOTTA HAVE THIS!

Just kidding.........but it IS amusing to see what is next.

I have an idea, I believe they should try to brew a high quality product, using high quality products.

Do not get me wrong, I occasionally enjoy an Ice Cold Budweiser on a hot summer day, but craft IS the hottest thing going. Why not try something crazy, like quality over gimmicks? It just might work.......
