This is great timing for all of you Patheticut residents...Spring Hop has just begun hitting shelves and this year's lot is back to the original batch recipe from 2 years ago according to the Mayflower website:

"We know it doesn’t feel like spring in New England yet, but this week we are releasing the 2013 vintage of Mayflower Spring Hop Ale. The aroma hop profile is back to the orginal blend of Cascade, Centennial, Citra and Sorachi we used in 2011. Hope you enjoy it and that spring arrives quickly. Cheers!"

    Enjoy!

We're all Massholes under the skin.

I'm glad to hear Mayflower's going to CT. Their flagships are all solid and this year's Spring Hop is real easy drinking.

noticed that when i was in town over the weekend.

mayflower porter is really top tier, up there with founders and anchor. i know those are both "mainstream" examples, but i don't think most other brewery's porters usually measure up to those.

Love Mayflower Brewery. Solid offerings across the board. Spring hop and porter are my favorites in the line. Great not to have to go to Julios to get it!

Got a sixer of spring hop today!

CT's got some good beer coming they're way. Get the Oatmeal Stout. Buy lots of it.

Against my better judgement I got dragged to the grad student bar last night. I was happy to see Mayflower IPA on tap, since I hadn't tried it yet, but didn't have huge expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. That was a terrific IPA! Juicy and crisp. Reminded me of Racer 5, one of my personal favorites. I'll definitely keep my eye open for it from now on, and I'm excited to try some of the Spring Hop soon.

GPSCY in New Haven, for Yale grad and professional students. Gets a little frat-like on Friday and Saturday nights, but it's okay before 10 or so. Cheap (most pints are $4) and always at least 3 or 4 good taps.
