The building is now cloaked entirely in black (and looks awesome). Pretty unassuming still, though.

So the word is more of a tap room with growlers and bottle sales, and less of a taproom with draft pours for on-site consumption? I'm happy either way, just seeing if the conjecture-consensus is settling on the former.

This would be great cant wait!

That would be my assumption. Its a completely separate license for onsite consumption and I don't think they are at that point yet.

Got a very cool tour today from beejay of there little slice of heaven. He pulled us some raspberry abduction (gonna be bad ass) and some unicorn revenge (holy hell best dipa I have had) he also confirmed that the current spot will be bottle sale and growler, not a tap room

as mentioned before, we have a blue lady glass for every single bottle of Blue Lady Batch #31, so if you wrote an e-mail in to us and made a claim, we have a glass or glasses for you. They'll be here for pickup (as others have said txt 847-910-9493 for fastest arrangements) or we'll mail them out just as soon as things stop falling apart over here... you know... leaky roofs, broken glycol, electrical disasters, broken trucks... that sort of thing .

FwB rewards or Blue Lady claims can be picked up any M-F from 7am - 5/6pm but you should give us a heads up to double check. Sometimes we can be here on the weekend but it's seldom.

we're about 200-300 private messages on here and fb behind, and probably 1000 e-mails behind as well... but it'll be worth it and we'll eventually read and reply to them all.

Enjoying a Unicorn's Revenge right now (Batch #92). Very buttery and creamy. Well done, as usual!

Just meant that it's very smooth. Hops are there on the back of the tongue, but are much more subtle than Ninja vs. Unicorn.

for future beer reference, treat the word "butter" as a German would "nazi."

    February 27, 2013 Update

    quick announcements!

    - Unicorns Revenge, Imperial IPA, Centennial, Amarillo, Pacifica & Nelson Sauvin, no bittering hops, is now available at both West Lakeview & Binny's Lincoln Park for FwB pickup! $10.99/22oz

    - As is Chipotle Smoked Porter, this is similar to the Froggy Style, but with Cherrywood Smoked Malts and a healthy dose of Peppers, isn't super spicy but has a really nice smoked chipotle flavor, $7.99/22oz

Went a little Pipeworks crazy at Fischmans yesterday. Picked up some Unicorns Revenge which i'm about to open. An End of Days and a N vs. U for an eastcoast friend in exchange for some Heady and Nugget Nectar.

So I bought 2 bottles of NvU, a favorite of mine. Both batch 91 and from the same store. First bottle is the same delicious unicorn nectar I've come to know. Second bottle tastes like battery acid. Well, this is not something I've imbibed certainly but what I think it might taste like. Anyway, the second bottle was undrinkable. Wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Just a bad bottle I guess but disappointing nonetheless.

I have noticed some bottle variation in some of the PW brews as well. Nothing to the extreme of battery acid, but certainly bottles that were lacking certain flavors or didn't really taste like the previous brew I had.

Thanks for your feedback. Maybe I was a bit harsh in comparing it to battery acid, apologies for that, but it was very off-putting in flavor. Undrinkable to me anyway. Was just curious as to others' experience with bottle variation. Thanks again.

Interesting. I haven't experienced it, and I hope any bottles I have sent out as extras don't have that same off putting flavor. Trying to spread the PW love around the country....

I sure haven't! which brews have you found this with? i've tried all their offerings aside from the smoked porters(just not something i like) and havent run into any problems

I'm with you regarding spreading PW love and this wouldn't prevent me in any way from grabbing NvU when I see it again, nor any of the other great offerings. It was probably a .01% type of variance thing.

This bottle of Unicorn's Revenge I picked up today is mighty tasty. I suggest anyone seek it out who likes a big DIPA.

I'm a FwB, I've bought every new beer but not every batch. I've had some brews recently that taste like an art project solvent. Pastrami on Rye and that Puerto Rican beer both had that solvent smell and taste. The last batch of End of Days did too, but less so. I talked to Scotty at the Beer Temple opening and tried a Pastrami beer with him, and it tasted fine. Maybe it's the spices in those beers? Anyway, Revenge was great and Chipotle porter is amazing, grabbed another bottle of it today to share. I didn't refridgerate the bad tasting beers, but now all Pipeworks go in the beer fridge, just in case.

Sorry for the noob question, but what is an fwb?

The only time I've ever used fwb was for friends with benefits, I'm assuming that's not the case here, lol.

That's correct. It was for the people that invested $100 or more into the brewery during their Kickstarter. Special access to some beers. Initial runs of beers held specifically for us so we don't have to worry about them selling. More perks as well.

Unless you stopped by the Lincoln Park Binnys today looking for Unicorns Revenge. Sold out! Even for FwB!

I had to console myself with a few glasses if Olive Branch across the street (it's not often I speak highly of a Goose Island Clybourn beer but that one was really, really good).

Sigh....this is why I cant wait until PW has their store up and running. I was lucky to get some at WLV today (my FWB pick up). It seems like this problem happens at both locations.
