They do have glassware. Stop-in when they're there during the week and bring a beer to share. I'd be willing to bet you'll walk out with a glass. They're pretty generous and congenial guys.
West Lakeview Liquors was also selling their snifter/tulip type glass a while back. Might want to check there.
was yours a pinch undercarbonated? I dont think it was forced carbonated so this one might need another week or two. Either way, it was delicious. Between this and the Kona Brown thing, this was the week of toasted coconut at my house.
They're not working 27/7 like they were 11-12 months ago. From what I was told they work pretty "normal" business hours. So on Friday at 4 they had probably already done the same thing you and I had - left work I'd suggest sending them a BM a couple days in advance and confirm that they'll be around when you're planning to stop by.
I was pleasantly surprised with Abduction. I grabbed a bottle by chance and it blew me away. Definitely one of the best hoppy (non bitter) Imperial Stouts I've had. Balance all around.
I was aliitle nervous about giving money to kickstarter, but it turned out great and i'm glad to help them out! I enjoy all the beers especially the IPAs.
Does the latest batch of Standard Issue (w/ galaxy) have a different label or is just differentiated by the batch number?
sorry for the absence... getting a little worn down. trying to open new accounts, push out more beer, have no idea where our 2012 harvest hops are (if you know please tell us! we want to make ninja and unicorn beers), fix our plans for the bottle shop and get that moving forward, get a new brewhouse =) (due in april, 10bbl portland kettle works), and pray that our $1,500 95' astro van, the Bicentennial Falcon (has over 200,000mi) doesn't break down in the burbs on a beer run! we'll get back in the swing of things shortly once we close the books on 2012 and get a fresh start in 2013! thx for all the love, support, honest feedback, etc. our barrel program officially starts this year too!
You guys should open up some FwB spots to get a reliable conversion van Looking forward to the upcoming year from you guys!
here's the release/brew schedule for the next few weeks incase you were wondering: 1/21 Hyper Dog 1/21 The Reliquary Belgian Double Pale 1/22 Santa vs Unicorn (hopefully you like the beer and will buy some, cuz stores are hesitant to buy anything x-mas related past x-mas) 1/22 Flower Child Berliner (no fruit) 1/28 Unicorn Galaxy then in the tanks: Well Read Temptress Abduction for bourbon barrels Imperial End of Days for bourbon barrels Raspberry Chocolate Abduction Unicorns Revenge Ninja vs Unicorn Quintessential with Amarillo End of Days Jones Dog Brotherhood Last Kiss Smoked Porter North & Western... that's about as far as my calendar goes
Amazing. Really looking forward to the new stuff. PLEASE tell me Citra Ninja will return...it's my favorite IPA!
Wow Cannot wait for the Barrel aged Abduction, Raspberry chocolate abduction, and the imperial end of days!! I am assuming those are a late 2013 release MmmmmmMmmmm
We had Flower Child last Saturday.. damn good. I'd remark it's very much more like the base berliner from the homebrew days.
From you We stopped in last Saturday with the homebrew. We're brewing that chocolate stout again tomorrow and are going to open the bottle you shared with us.
Careful...barrel aged variants may be limited and were initially to be made available only to FwB folks. <Looks to Gerrit to confirm quantity being prepared>
I'll be stopping in to visit you guys at Pipeworks a week from Monday from the Twin Cities. I'll probably pick up a few glasses and maybe share a Darkness with you.
I am almost positive later last year PW said there would be FwB only releases upcoming, and I would think the BA beers would be FwB only. FWIW
took some of the first steps (in a while) towards getting the bottle shop open today. ordering the brewhouse was all part of the general expansion. today we rearranged a few things and made room for tanks 7 & 8 and a few other items that are on the list of bottle shop to-do's. >=) pretty happy about that.
I walked by there last night with my girlfriend (cutting over from Damen to California on Wabansia) and I pointed to the dusty, unmarked, black cinder block building with the blinds drawn and said, "This is where, I venture to say, the best beer in Chicago is made." She sort of didn't believe me, until we spotted a few stray empty bottles in your front windows.
Is all beer from Pipeworks still in 22oz btls? Any plans to put into 12oz 6 (or even 4) packs anytime soon if the answer to the former question is yes?
Hi everyone how do you get the Friends with Benefits newsletter ? I was in the city last weekend and picked up a few of the latest Pipeworks bombers and I'm hooked!
