I wish brewers/breweries would realize that bigger is not always better and I wish that people never began to trade beer (that was when this industry stopped being fun)
I wish Founders would brew a lager instead of calling out others for making them. I wish Victory would re-institute their seasonals and quit using Headwaters as an excuse to not do so. I wish Sierra Nevada would become less IPA-centric I wish Sam Adams would drop BL from the variety packs I wish Bell's would lose their "Fuck NY" attitude and not make us the only state in the east to be Bell-less I wish Troegs would redesign themselves I wish Cigar City would be organized and consistent I wish Blue Point would make better beer I wish Greenport Harbor would fail and make room for a less greedy brewery I wish Saranac would ask their customers which beer they brew are good and which are not, and then act accordingly I wish Anderson Valley would lower their prices I wish Stone could tell me in their own words why Ruination is 10 dollars in California and 23 in NY I wish every brewery would take the task of brewing a really tasty and unique brown ale I wish someone would buck the trend and do something that no one else is doing, or better yet, revitalize a lagging style
I wish breweries would quit skipping Indiana and going to Ohio and Illinois without giving us a second thought
Sorry man, I know my opinion might be shared by few but I really feel the glory days of craft brewing have passed (other than supporting local brewers, breweries, etc.) and in my opinion one of the culprits was beer trading.
I wish every brewery would be better at dating their bottles. Except for Firestone Walker of course. It's a never ending cycle. They think it shouldn't be dated in order to sell it as "fresh" and not scare off a customer, but it sits because it has no date on it.
What were these 'glory days' like? Because if they didn't afford BA's the opportunity to create relationships with other great BA's by exchanging brews they otherwise would have no shot at enjoying, then I would contend the glory days were not so glorious. I wish Ithaca Brewery would produce Brute again, since I have never had any.
I wish Cigar City Cafe Con Leche was available in Pittsburgh. Its an incredible sweet stout. Of course, I'd welcome all cigar city offerings, but that one in particular was delicious.
I wish Cantillon was able to produce enough bottles to become a "shelf beer" and be available to everyone. And also wish Russian River would go back to the 750ml bottle format.
I wish Rogue would just stop. At least for a while. I mean, really, Rogue, you're getting out of control.
