A couple of months ago I went to a bar and they had Old Rasputin on a nitro-tap. It was the first and only time thus far that I've had it, but it was probably one of the best and most surprising beer-experiences of 2012. I've had plenty of OR in the bottle and some on tap, but they both pale in comparison, I think, to the nitro-tap. This is the back story to my "beer-wish" for 2013. I wish North Coast brewery would make Old Rasputin in ~15oz nitro-can four packs. I ask you all, do you have a beer wish for 2013 that some brewery/s might be able to grant? ------ maybe some will even be read/heard!
I wish Founders Breakfast Stout would move to 6-packs but not cost any extra money. Let's see whose wish comes true...
I wish more Michigan breweries (especially Bell's and Founders) would distribute to states west of the Mississippi (other than Arizona)!
I wish The Alchemist could send endless truckloads of Heady Topper to Philly and NJ without compromising quality so I could buy cases whenever I wanted.
I wish Deschutes would make Abyss & Dissident year round. They're so dangerously sessionable, I could drink those everyday for the rest of my life, and die a happy BA.
I wish Russian River would make a ton more Blind Pig so I could have it on tap at my bar & more BAs could see that it's just as good as Pliny. Same with Row 2 Hill 56.
I wish your favorite brewery would sell itself to AB InBev so I can have better access to those tasty brews while reading your incessant posts about how you never liked them and the quality has gone down.
I wish DFH would make Theobrama (spelling?) taste even remotely close to what I thought it was going to taste like based on the ingredients listed on the label.
I wish my local brewery in Sturbridge would make some different beer after 8+ yrs and stop filtering. Shame really!
In the spirit of the holidays, I wish that Three Floyds would charge a reasonable price on their bombers. Especially their barrel-aged stuff that goes for $30-50 per bottle (WTF!), but also their every-day offerings like Dreadnaught and Arctic Panzer. Munster must have huge property taxes that those poor fellas at FFF need to factor into their pricing...
Such tunnel vision you all have when it comes to beer. I wish AB-Inbev would give me five million dollars.
I wish Epic would release Big Bad Baptist year round and offer it in 4 packs (or 6 packs if I want to get super greedy) 12 oz bottles.
I wish more breweries would offer big beers in smaller formats. I wish all breweries would clearly date their beers. (Might as well add that I would also like 5 million dollars)
+1 on smaller format bottles and bottle dating. Also wish more cases of the dissident made it down here to Orange County, CA.
