Well done CCB. Got a bit congested until about 1:30 but other than that it was an amazing event.
Had some absolutely outstanding CCB brews as well as killer guest drafts.
Worth the 18 hour drive from Chi!

Or, this schmuck that's trying to get $80 PER BOTTLE

    "freezing morning"

As a guy that also waited in line (from 6:30 until about 8:00, when I got in), and having grown up and lived in Rochester, NY for 31 years, this schmuckolovich has no fucking clue what the word "freezing" means. It was in the mid to high 50's around 6:30am. Whatta putz.

LOL! You talking about Tupac? Good actor, but not a great rapper. Eyedea is the greatest lyricist/rapper ever, with Slug and Sage not too far behind.

Not MN rap! The rap I am referring to is quite different than the shit you see or here on BET and mainstream. Atmosphere is a nice experience, as well as Doomtree. Google Dessa Darling, you may get into rap after you experience her brilliance and beauty. You also need some stomping music from 4 on the Floor in your life to!

Because there's an even bigger douchebag trying to get $200 per bottle. Wouldn't it be nice if he broke both his front teeth on the glass when he takes a sip?

Just messing with you. Music is subjective. Rap isn't for me. To each their own. I won't begrudge anyone that likes it, and can honestly say it takes a lot of talent to think up new words to rhyme with bitch and ho. :p

Saying Tupac is a great actor and not a great rapper is one of the more ridiculous things that I have ever heard in my entire life. It is like saying that Michael Jordan is a great baseball player and a poor basketball player. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I got my 6 bottles (3 from my wristband, 3 from my FIL's) around 1:30. Walking back to the car, there were still people going in able to get wristbands (available to the first 5,000 people). The ads stated they would sell to those with wristbands starting at Noon or when all wristbands were sold, whichever was sooner (Noon in this case, obviously). Sales wouldn't be available to those without wristbands until 5:00.... if there was any left.

So, if the first 4,000 had a 3-bottle limit, and the next 1,000 had a 2-bottle limit, that's 14,000 bottles.... IF everyone bought their limit. I saw a ton of people that were only buying 1 or 2 bottles.

I don't know if that means it's not rare because they had some available to sell 5 hours after the first sale occurred. It just means they made more than last year.

They sell it by the case every year after a specific time. I think it was 7pm last year, can't remember when in 2011.

They sell any leftovers up to a case per person after a specific time. This year was 5pm. Last year was later because the bottles didn't go onsale till much later. They also made A LOT more this year since the demand last year completely surpassed the supply.

Last year I heard they ran out of wristbands (you ticket to purchase Hunahpu) before 11am. I know they were definitely gone by 1pm when I arrived. And CCB had to reduce the bottle limit to 2 per person. This year they were still handing out the "3 per person" wristbands after 11am

Hunaphu Day facts: got in line at 2:18 a.m. About # 30 at that time. Next arrivals at about 3:00 a.m. By 4:30 - 5:00, they started piling in. They let people in B4 7:50, because Home Depot called police - too many people in line in front of their business, so in we went early. Lines for tokens B4 they started selling were humongous, tapered off after a bit, then short all day.Beer lines were MONSTROUS ALL day. Great weather. Tried Huny on tap - $5 token for , what a 6 oz. Dixie cup. It's pretty good. Tried Leon, same price/size, it's pretty good. Got a bottle share taste os Sexual Choc , it,s pretty good. Share taste of Surly Abrasive, pretty good. Then, big thanks to John, aka Elkhunter ( does he really Huny elk?), a taste of Bruery Grey Monday, fuckin' delicious WHALE ! Food trucks were pretty good, a little slow, and un-organized, but they got it going after a bit. Thanks to the guys I traded with. And I noticed that at 12:30, about the time I left, you could still get a Gold wristband , or 2.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I have no problem with people reselling beers on ebay. Unless you were at the event and were turned away empty handed, you have no reason to complain about the listings.

Not everyone can fly down to Tampa to attend this event nor does everyone have rare beers to trade for Hunaphu. If you dont like the price the beer is being sold for on ebay, the solution is really easy... don't buy it! Maybe just maybe, others are willing to pay over $50 a bottle to try this beer because its the only way they'll ever get to try it.

It's not a matter of opinion. Alcohol is prohibited on eBay.

    I'll post this here too...

Welp, this was my 3rd Hunahpu's Day I've attend, and probably my favorite of them all. Arrived at 7am w/ Wakefield, got the merch setup and headed to the tent he was pouring all his beers at. JW and I immediately saw that they were way short on workers (only two pour beer) and started helping...needless to say, I spent the rest of the day pouring amazing beer, drinking amazing beer, and hanging out with some new & old friends. Thanks to all those who stopped by and gave me pours of some very awesome bottles and some of the great stuff that was on-tap. My legs were caked with Hunahpu's splatter and I managed not to get sun burned because of the tent, so I can't complain. Bathroom situation was pretty bad, but I think it was a better crowed then last year (especially with the increased number of people).

Between the "Legion of Brews" tasting on Friday at the brewery, Peg's, and Hunahpu's Day, this was a wonderful weekend. Cheers to all those who I ran into at all the events!

Hay all, that was my first beer release I had been too and it seemed like there was crazy long lines to get any good beer and the food trucks ran out relatively early. Is that generally how these beer releases go? Any recommendations on another good beer release to go to around the country?
