Folks, this seems about as dumb as posting 'has anyone seen any Crown Lager', however, still unable to locate any. Local Dannos didn't have any, nor a couple of smaller-but-not-tiny shops I tried.. Any sightings on the North Shore of Sydney - and a price I should benchmark? cheers,
Tap NSW stockists are - North of Harbour: Collaroy Beach Club, Collaroy Greengate Hotel, Kilara Hunter: Northern Star, Hamilton South’s Leagues Club, Merewether Burwood Hotel, Merewether Hotel Delany, Newcastle Everywhere else: Local Tap House, Darlinghurst Marlborough Hotel, Newtown 30 Knots, Grand Hotel, Sydney Yardhouse, Sydney Penrith Panthers, Penrith Manning Bar, Sydney Arc@UNSW, Sydney Hero of Waterloo,The Rocks Fortune of War, The Rocks Pyrmont Bridge Hotel, Sydney Docks Hotel, Sydney Tipple, Surry Hills Parkview, Erskineville I've seen bottles at Porters Northwood. Can pick up some from Camperdown Cellars on Saturday if you like. $9 to $11 will do it (bottle)
Plentiful at Camperdown Cellars (Parramatta Rd) and Vintage Cellars (Newtown), which also has Mountain Goat Rye IPA
finally - sanity prevails and I found some @ VC at Beecroft. $16 for two bottles. Was just surprised as I thought I saw a release date of Feb 8th that it took so long to hit the shelves. Got some MG Ry IPA as well @ 10/bottle.... Not to mention the guy was intent on plying me with tasters of Penfolds Bin 389 - but I guess that's for another forum!!
Have to say - I was amazed by this one. MB have always been kinda sorta OK with their limited stuff - noting I came onto scene after Ten20, but this was an outstanding beer. Review to come. So of course I've now bought lots, knowing it's a one-off, and equally knowing that this will decline faster than other styles due to the fact that the hops used, make the nose so wonderful - part of the appeal. Wish it was a regular part of range.
Have to agree, I too was really surprised by this one and would love this to part of the regular range. Top drop!!!
anyone still going thru any of this? asking as I cracked one open tonight which was dull to put it mildly... still got three in the cellar which is a worry.... cheers,
Ouch. Enjoy your hefe, as I imagine the hops are long gone. It's still showing up in Perth at some of the more outer suburbs b/shops. It's amazing in Perth that you essentially start at the IBS and then go out in concentric circles to find things worth drinking as IBS and alike run out.
