As I mentioned in another thread on this topic, since they moved from Yakima (where they were known as the Bears), Hops would have been a good name there too. The Yakima region is the largest hop-growing region in the country.
Pretty sweet! Not to hard to get over to Hillsboro on public transport. Hopefully they put it in a good location.
Already planning a trip next summer. Ideally catch a 2-3 game homestand, do some camping, hit up Cascade, Johns, Belmont, Deschutes, HUB, maybe hotd, laurelwood etc. . . Who knows maybe do a day in Bend, they have a college summer league there & good beer scene as well.
We've got a team in the same league with Bend here in Bellingham ( http://www.wccbl.com/ ), and the Everett Aquasox play in the same league that the Hops will. Been meaning to make a beer and baseball trip to Bend myself.
