Nice to meet more Texas craft beer folks, especially from this great community. Thanks to everyone for your generosity, hope to catch everyone at La Muerta day! Cheers, Chad PS: great idea on the name tags. Let's do that again next time.
I brought the tags. Im probably missing La Muerta. They cost a $1 at walmart if any one wants to pick some up for next time.
It was great seeing everyone. Great time, great beer, great people. I got to meet some new people as well..finally met a few people I have been seeing on here for quite some time.
If anyone took any pictures, could you post them? I'm sure that a few of us could use them to remember how the day progressed!
As bad as that comeback is it's better than pwsoldier's, "ZOMG ROFOLCOPTER! You dont have a twitter, you so totally suck" joke at Freetail.
Don't you fuckin start as well! Encouraging him will lead down a dark road. He has been off his meds for months now.
Who brought the Riserva and what did you give up to get it? I don't know about anyone else but that tartness was just outstanding hopefully it's not a difficult one to track down
I am just trying to reconstruct the list of what I actually sampled. I accidentally deleted mine off my phone toward the end of the share portion of the morning.
I think I took pics of the first 15, after that I just took note of the really, really good ones. I hope La Muerta bottle share will be just as good.
I brought it. The bottle was a 2010. It comes with a disclaimer sticker telling you it didnt carbonate properly. I've heard the 2011 isnt as sour, but I havent had it yet. Im sure you can land it with JK or any limited Deschutes.
Think of this with a positive twist. If there were any pics of Miikezombie or his new tag team partner Grendle on your phone, the Internet Board of Tasteful Pictures would have confiscated it and destroyed it as a favor to humanity.
jamescain, Your Brett C beer dry-hopped with citra was fantastic. Probably a standout for me, even amongst all the wacky gueuze we drank.
Tried all the beers today from the bottle with wagenvolks. They were all damn good. The rasp ananke has a really great raspberry note on the nose and flavor, the berliner weisse is spot on, but a tad young. needs a couple more months in the bottle but was drinking damn good. WAAAAy better than some of the bonnie bottles ive tried. The gollito was very nice but definitely young. need to age this one about 6 months if you want it to sour up some. Its got a great flanders nose and you can tell it is headed in the right direction. the realtail for me was average but a great attempt.
Thanks for the thoughts. I was happy to get a chance to try them on draft so I hope I can hold off...doubtful but I'll try.
I never got the wrestling is fake memo... LOL! What you going to say next jl28r1? That they don't spill real blood and use ketchup packets?
Speaking of beer a pretty legit ISO for Fortuna out there now..if anyone has a Hill Farmstead need. I would but the dang stuff is too tasty
anything mark shoppe brews is amazing. He is an austin zealot homebrewer and we call him mr. brewniverse as he wins a shit ton of medals every year.
This was really amazing. And yes, name tags were a great idea. It was awesome to see some familiar DFW & Houston faces as well as all of the new faces. I got to try some amazing beers, and I was really lucky to get some Fortuna from a generous donor. =) Specially thanks to my driver (I slept from SA to like, Waco, heh).
