same here. a giant barleywine from founders is going to be good enough. nix the barrel aging and maybe i can buy multiple bottles for cellaring.

I know Founders said KBS release 2013 will be a ticketed event. Where did you see that the Anniversary Party this year will be ticketed?

It is in the news release for Frangelic Mountain Brown.

I have heard it is already on shelves in Alabama.

And bottle shop workers are posting them on BA right now

Im not actually mad at all. Its just above my price range right now. At that $10 price point, I usually grab Oud Beersel or another Belgian. Its fantastic, just a bit too much for me.

From what I heard/read, this was essentially a case of "Won't someone please think of the children?!". Apparently there is a fear among opponents to this change that once these high ABV beers make it to Ohio, underage kids are going to go buy them and die trying to shotgun multiple bottles of 120 or WWS the same way they were wrecking themselves drinking things like four loko. Though, an official reason for the removal was never given.

Here are some articles for those interested:

    /off-topic rant

On a more relevant note. I'm seriously considering this as my first real beer release trip.

Was just told this will be part of the Backstage Series so it looks like it'll be a pain in the ass to get...

And you don't think it would have been otherwise?

Well the 750 indicated that it most likely would be but I was hoping since it was a an "anniversary" beer that they would have made it a much bigger "regular" release.

We just got sunday sales in GA. It is going to be a while before we can get rid of any more church-centric laws in our state.

I see where you're coming from. Just anytime I see someone post a five-month-out pre-trade, I assume that by the time the beer is released it's going to be a pain in the ass to find.

This shit is rare bro. They'll probably make 15k bottles. Nothing rarer than that. Even a case of King Henry couldn't pull a Bolt Cutter.

Even if I don't get a ticket, I will make the journey just to meet some of you fools in person finally. I will ease the pain at HopCat on whatever vintage Nemesis or Imperial Stout they put on.

i kind of think founders might make this where you would need to buy the ticket at the tap room what does every one else think?

As is stated earlier in this thread and previous Founders blog posts on their site, that is definitely happening.
