Strangely enough, despite being the beer that originated the Citra hop, I get surprisingly few of the predominant Citra characteristics from Torpedo.

Whoa. Torpedo has citra? Color me surprised. I get next to no citrus flavor in that beer.

Edit: Forgot to mention my favorite. Aside for the obvious, KRBC Citra, my favorites are Knee Deep Simtra and Anchorage Bitter Monk.

As said in the thread quoted above, Citra Pale from OddSide Ales in Michigan. Not sure where you're located but it's not bottled AFAIK.

Hill Farmstead Citra and Double Citra are really good. I want to try the Kern version for sure also.

All of you Citra hop fans may want to sit down for this... About 30% of the Citra harvest was rejected by various processors and much of the remaining harvest got 'wind burnt'. The flavor of the 2012 harvest has shifted some and a brewing colleague of mine said they rejected ALL of their Citra contract because of "onion and garlic" rather than citrus and a petroleum note as well. 2011 Citras were great...the 2012 crop had a weird weather season and stressed the bines. There may be good lots of Citra but two different processors I deal with have acknowledged the above.

Heading to the Citra release at Kern River tomorrow. Staying at the lodge next door and will be second or third in line. 3 people, one doesn't drink...I'll have 12+ bottles. Should we talk ?

I stumbled upon this beer one day while making a stop at Ashley's in Ann Arbor and it blew me away. Probably my favorite pale ale to date (I have trouble considering Zombie Dust a pale ale regardless of how FFF labels it, haha).

There was a hop shortage last year 2011 harvest... 2012 harvest isn't in most brewers hands yet. The beers brewed with 2012 Citra most likely haven't hit the market yet...
