Never been able to have both batches side by side. What would you say the main difference is?

Also.. ISO: boxers batch 3 FT: Chicago beer from a native Houstonian.

i remember one being carbed but not all there flavor profile wise, the other was on point in terms of tartness but no carbonation to "elevate" it if you will. this batch 3 is a nice combo of it all.

Anyone seen Boxers, Funk Metal or RU-55 in the DFW area? I am headed down that way from OK in a week or two and was hoping to find a few bottles. Thanks!

It's been a couple months or so but Specs in Dallas had several cases of Boxers. If I were you I would make some calls around to Hall's, Central Market, Specs and Total Wine. See if there is any in stock.

The new, 3rd batch of Boxer's is about to be released. They were selling bottles at the JK Anniversary party this weekend, so the TABC approval is done, and it should be coming to market soon. I hear its the best of the 3 batches (I bought 2, but havent tried it yet)

Any idea when Specs downtown is getting RU-55?

    Boxers?

I had batch 2 a couple months ago. Tasted great and tons of carb. No issues, I'm still sitting on 2 more bottles.

Whole Foods around here had plenty of Funk a week or two ago. I haven't seen Boxer's for a long while and I don't believe we've gotten RU-55 yet.

Ru has come and gone already in dfw. I grabbed 1 last week, or was it 2 weeks ago now?

I really hope this isn't the case. I need to pick up 3 more bottles. I'm going to scout Fort Worth for them at lunch and ill let everyone know.

I think there's still stores who haven't received in the city of Dallas and East. Let me know if you have problems finding it.

RU-55 is now my favorite sour from JK. And to whomever mentioned the smaller caps on RU-55 bottles, I believe you are right. Did a size comparision the other day. If anyone missed out on funk metal or Uberkind, I'd gladly trade for some RU-55

Go to the brand new Spec's in Fort Worth, the new Megastore, they had RU-55 on the shelf on Saturday, and plenty of it.

I actually just swung by the Spec's closer to campus and they had 3 on the shelf and more in the back.

Damn you Seth! You made me panic ;)

New batch of Boxer's is great. Good carbonation and tastes fantastic. Looks like the ABV jumped up a little bit too

Has Jeff mentioned the batch size of RU-55 yet? I've only been able to find one bottle in Austin so far and I really must find more.

I didn't have a chance to ask about the casks labeled red raspberry. Does anyone have any info on this?

My guess would be Buddhas Brew or Boxers variation. I would be very surprised and disappointed if noone asked

Just hazarding a guess, but they DID say something about a new variant of Buddha's this year....

Red Raspberry Buddha's sounds like the most likely scenario...sounds like a tasty scenario as well

    Raspberry Bonnie.
i think the variation on Buddah will come from the different types of Kombucha that Buddhas Brew makes, namely ginger and cranberry I think.

And this is why I say Bonnie. Jeff liked my fruit comment in response to his Bonnie post. Pure speculation of course.

I saw a bunch of barrels that said 'RED' but I just figured that was RU-55. I really need to learn to read more than 1 word on the barrel.

Raspberry is not a flavor of Buddha's Brew FWIW.

Bah! Speculate all you want, this is BA. We are all panning for gold in one way or another. And what you have tossed out is a nice gleaming brick...

Am I the only one who just looks at writing on the barrels and forgets to listen to the brewer? I felt like just walking up and climbing on them during his presentation.

That makes sense...didn't care much for Bonnie but I'd definitely be interested in Bonnie w/raspberries.

Ditto. I've already had a stout with weasel shit, and it was delicious. So I'm excited about anything fruited. I think that's something Texas brewers aren't doing much. Or at least they aren't bottling it (ahem* Peche'cus *ahem*).

Last week we received 2,000 lbs. of fresh raspberries from Washington state. We were impressed by the aroma, so we have high hopes for them. We added them to eight oak barrels of mature Das Uberkind.
