This Saturday (May 12th) Due South Brewing in Boynton Beach, FL is having their grand opening. Anyone here going? I'll be there working in the tasting room from 7pm to close.
Mike, I'm so going dude. This is what Boynton needs I'm so pumped up about this. Are you Mike the owner? If so I meet you at Delray Beerfest great guy. This Saturday are we able to bring beer to trade and share?
Trying to convince SWMBO to let us skip her friend's wedding so we can go. Might just see if we can sneak away early and make it over there.
Good luck with the opening. I can't be there but I wish I could. Do you know what the distribution plans are? What's your opening lineup look like?
This thread wasn't started by Mike the owner, that's Mike from mikelovesbeer.com. They're going to be distributed by Brown, though, I know that much. http://duesouthales.com/ has the full lineup of beers
Hmmm, I'll actually be down in South Florida by then, ~45 minutes away. I would like to hear more details; I might be able to make it.
They'll have special taps from Cigar City and Tequesta brewing as well as food trucks outside. Gonna be a good time.
That's awesome. I just checked out the website and their lineup sounds promising. I just sent a message to the owner of the bar I work at in Orlando to keep an eye out for their beers. We buy beers from Brown. I hope to see these guys on our taps soon.
Yeah I am not Mike Halker, the owner. They are not allowing outside bottles in for this event. It is supposed to be about them anyway. Saturday is 3 pm to 11 pm. After that the normal opening hour will be noon everyday but Monday, when they are closed. Glad to see a bunch of people excited about this. I'm super stoked because it's right down the street from my house. Biking distance.
I know some of the stuff but since Due South has not announced anything yet I'm not sure if they want it out just yet. We have training tomorrow so possibly after that there may be an announcement.
I figured that would be the answer, but I had to try. At any rate, I'll be there, though I don't know what time or for how long, so I may or may not see you there. I'll be sure to say hello if I see you.
I'll be there probably when they open at 3. I have to go to Mother's Day dinner that night so I can't get too sloshed.
Since there grand opening is on the 12th are they gonna be able to start distributing the week of craft beer week? Doing a local tap takeover in the Grove and would love to get them on tap. Man its really awesome to see South Florida being put on the map with all these breweries popping up. Tequesta, Due South, Funky Buddha...loving it. Even Schnebly winery is getting in on it.
They're being distributed by Brown so I'd check with them. If not, then call Mike the owner and see what he says.
I know that Mike is certainly trying to. They are tentatively scheduled to be part of a Florida Tap Takeover at Coffee District on May 19th.
I didn't make it to the Grand Opening on Saturday due to a family emergency, but we did stop by yesterday and it's very nice. You can tell he needs to get a little more dialed in on the system, but that's every brewer when they make the jump to production size batches. With that said, the beers are good, atmosphere is chill, and it's going to be a popular spot, for sure. Good luck to Mike and Jodi.
