I still have a L&L just begging me to crack it open and I just cant do it I like the items like this but I live in an area that is just not a huge distro area so items like this cost me a huge amount when I happen to find them.
Looking forward to it, too—I like this talk about glassware designed specially for hop-forward beer, too.
I actually enjoyed L&L from what I remember. I have 2 more bottles in my cellar, and I believe one of my best friends has 1 left in his collection as well. I'm really looking forward to this, and will be looking for a hookup since DFH doesn't distribute to MN *sad face*
Anyone have any idea what Hop 644 is like? I know it's not yet on the market, but word gets around sometimes.
hope to try but live in an area of cali that doesnt get the dogfish distro, so will have to trade ISO anyone haha
Yeah, Cali is weird. I live in Chico and the only Russian River we ever get up here is Damnation and Redemption. LAME.
I read about this a few days ago when they first announced it and got excited. I missed L&L 1 but I had a shot at 2 (which I think is basically the same) and I enjoyed it. It was fantastic, but it was far from terrible. I'm really excited about a hop-forward collab between these two. DFH doesn't do a lot of hop-forward beers (aside from the various Minute IPAs, Squall and Hellhound. Maybe some others, but not a lot) they tend to do more experimental things (like the original L&L), but this sounds cool and I'm excited to try a new kind of hop. Also I love the idea of them combining DFH's continuous hopping methods and SN's Torpedo method. Should be awesome, I hope we get enough in AZ for me to find one (Phoenix tends to get all the cool beers since the 2 big distro companies are based there so I miss out on a lot in Tucson). It was pretty easy to find L&L but thats because it was distributed my SN. DFH tends to be a bit trickier.
Just picked up a bottle of Collage today thanks to Deschutes distribution, hoping to luck out on this one too!
I'm really excited about this. Being new to this, I missed L&L and hope my store gets plenty in for me to buy and put aside.
Anyone know the availability of said glassware? I'd love to get my hands on some. Probably through their online store? EDIT: Just saw it on DFH's online store. $9/19oz glass. Hm.
I'm getting ready to go to their site and snag one myself. I have the other glass they put out that I bought while visiting.
Had this on draft last night at Two Stones Pub in Wilmington, DE. It was a bit pricey ($12 for 12 oz) but man, it was great. Really unique hop character - didn't slap me over the head like I thought it would, but they're certainly there and you know this is a hop-forward drink. I'd be interested to know exactly what these 644 hops are. The "subtle sweet and nutty notes" from the description definitely applies. Highly recommended.
Yes. I did see it today but couldn't pick up a bottle as it was prior to 6am... Dumb laws... 12.99 btw
I saw it being stocked today at my local liqour store. I almost grabbed a bottle, but at 12.99 I'd rather pick up a sixer of Sucks.
Totally worth it. It was $11 a bottle here in AZ. I had one fresh and it was awesome. The Best After date is something like 4/30/13 so I'm saving another to try after. I'm gonna be picking up a few more too, and thats saying a lot with that price point.
Thanks for the input guys. I'll try have my girlfriends family send some Rhizing Bines up from San Antonio and I'll go pick up a bottle or two of Collage myself.
I would really like to try this, but I can't justify spending $15 on a bottle of this--in Delaware nonetheless. This will be the first time in ages I'm passing on a new DFH release, but the quality to price ratio seems to be a bit off.
Picked up a bottle last night for $11.99 in Fort Lauderdale. Haven't popped it yet but I'm hoping it's as good as I am expecting it to be...
Yeah I passed on it today as well (for now). $10 for 75 min vs $14 for rhizing bines, neither of which ive had. So I went with the 75 min.
