Just opened my first bottle of this year's Dissident last week and split it with friends. It was really really good, but still a little hot. Can't wait for this year's Abyss to complete my 2006-2012 verticals!
Well...at least you'll get to enjoy a few good bottles. I've had all but the '09 (and 12, obviously) recently...and outside the '10...I'd take a pass on all of them, unfortunately. But...that's just me.
Do you think the '11 just needs some more age on it, or was there something else you didn't like about it?
I think it's been available at the brewery for a few weeks. Distribution starts in mid October maybe?

'11 abyss was very heavy cherry bark i put about a case away after drinking the first two. im hoping it smooths out a little. i liked '10 much better

Abyss, since the guy in the post right above mine said "I've had all but the '09 (and 12, obviously)", and there was no '09 Dissident release either.
I'm psyched. I have never tried Abyss so I can't wait to get a couple. I had one Dissident in early 2011 (2010 release I'm sure) and it was one of the biggest surprises for me. It was amazing. I'll have to try to pick up 2-3 of each of these.
Missouri and Minnesota are closest Midwest Distro at this time but I keep hearing Illinois may be coming in 2013. I can only hope!!!
Yeah i'm in the Twin Cities area and I spent most of my day driving around to a bunch of different liquor stores trying to get some Dissident. It appeared that if anyone got any it was only 1 case, so as you can imagine they disappeared very quickly.
Does anyone know if Dissident has hit arizona yet? I really want to score a bottle of this to try, please let me know!
I've been wondering the same thing. No luck for me here in Tucson yet. The closest I can get is the Deschute/HotD collab Collage since it has some Dissident in it. I'm keeping an eye out though and I'll let you know if I see it.
I'm drinking my first Abyss as I type this and I'm wishing I didn't need to trade to get it. If I could buy this at my local I'd have a large stash to say the least.
The Abyss is my all-time favorite beer and I am really glad that I purchased 5 bottles last year. I probably spent like 20 dollars in gas driving around to get it. Worth it!
Honestly I don't know. but i always get these emails from "fred" and he has a case. I believe in cali. It's just weird because when i click on the link it goes to the brewery website and not his. I can't remember for the life of me what site it is. I know thats no help, but I'd say it's hitting shelves now.
