Hey all, wanted some advice on trading the cherry ryes i recently acquired. I know they are in demand right now and very hard to get, so I want to trade for something out of the park. DO i stand a shot at ( i have 3 bottles fyi) BA Vanilla DL, Blaeber, KTG or possible the armand 3f seasonal series? What about DDG, Cable Car, things like that? If not, what are some brews that are within my reach here? Thanks
probably not. there's been a lot of discussion about this here: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/trading-for-bcbs-cherry-rye.53856/
Shallow? I don't quite follow. I'd rather post it here then either post something and look like a jackass or post something too low and have to deal with responding to 30 messages.
Sorry man. Just figure out what you want and try it out with an ISO. These threads are all too common these days. You want us to help you maximize your trades? that doesn't appeal to me.
If it doesn't appeal to you then don't respond. Sorry I tried to learn from people more knowledgeable .
I'm not trying to be an ass. Your question comes off as 'what's the most I can get for 3 cherry rye?' Most view this as a veiled auction. If you are looking to trade your beer, post an iso with what you have available and what you are looking for. You are asking others to offer their perceived value for your beer so you do not suffer from inexperience. Just figure out what you want, trade $4$, or rather, work towards establishing regular trade partners who would be more interested in equitable trades than ripping each other off. Have fun.
There's a perception here that you are trying to "win" the trade. For any of the trades to go through, other than the two mentioned above, you would have to "win" the trade. If you haven't noticed that kind of behavior isn't looked upon too highly here. You'd be better off posting an ISO:;FT: that is a little out of reach and you might get lucky but wouldn't draw this kind of attention. I'm not that familiar with KTG anymore, maybe you could get that with three of the Cherry Ryes but I would think you'd have no problem getting one of the Armand Season beers as they were available online for a long time.
Try searching the trade forum to see what people are asking for and offering for this bottle. You'll get the information you need and you won't piss anyone off.
3 Cherry : 1 BA DL - No 3 Cherry : Blabaer 750 - 1% Chance (about 5% Chance for 375, most likely international) 3 Cherry : 1 Kate (2012) - 50% (Chance falls as you look for older years/less bottles) 3 Cherry : 1 3F Lente - 75% (Chances increase as you look for less desirable Armand 4's.) 3 Cherry : 1 DDG - 1% 3 Cherry : 1 Cable - 5% (Chances decrease as you look for older bottles) 1 Cherry : 1 Black Tuesday (2012) - 90% Chance (Chances decrease as you look for older years, but as you add, may increase again.) 3 Cherry : 1 Black Tuesday (2009) - No 1 Cherry : 1 Coffee - 75% (Find the right trader) 1 Cherry : 1 Bramble - 60% 3 Cherry : 1 Vanilla + $4$ - 80% 3 Cherry : 1 Rare - 20% Hope that helps.. P.S. - Numbers are arbitrary, and mean nothing..
3 cherry for 1 Kate (especially 2012) seems super lopsided in favor of the KTG trader. Arbitrary, like you said though.
Agreed. 66oz of Cherry Rye should EASILY pull an 11.2 oz bottle of '12 KtG if not two of them. I'd even say one 22oz Cherry Rye for one 11.2oz '12 KtG is more than fair... Although, if it were me, I'd pick up a 4pk of Founders Imperial Stout and trade my Cherry Rye for something far more tasty than Kate. (Oops. Sorry to hate.)
These posts on the Beer Trading General/Help and ISO:FT forums coming from people on the east coast who just received their allotment of Cherry Rye are asinine. The beer is phenomenal and not sure why people are looking to trade them right away or at all while claiming it's hard to get. Just my opinion.
Just drink them in honor of those who couldn't get a single one, let alone multiples to ask what their "value" is. This friggin site, I tells ya..
How'd that work out for you? 1.) You said 'you know it's trading high' 2.) You listed long-shot shit you wanted for it. What did you expect to happen? You're trying to auction them off. You said you recently got them. Have you tried one? Did you not enjoy it, thus you want to trade it? What I would suggest, is opening one, cellaring one, and putting one up your dick-hole and smashing it with a hammer. You're welcome.
As with any beers, the value system is less effective when dealing with vintage bottles in bulk. Simply because there is no way to account for users with 3 KH.
For that last part to you recommend going cap or bottom first? I've never tried this before, but if girls can soak a tampon in vodka to get drunk why can't us guys have some fun too.
You are NOT thinking this through real well man. Soaking tampons in vodka for a good time is not at all limited to girls. Think about it. Now, think harder. See....NOW you get it . It works well I might add.
Cherry Rye isn't reeling in walez? Which of you midwestern shelf beer hoarders messed up and broke the collusion pact?
I gotcha now, when you get hit in the face you stick them up your nose to stop the bleeding and get drunk at the same time right?
Not sure if this is what you are getting at but you have to look no further than the University of Tennessee to find this example. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/01/butt-chugging-university-of-tennessee_n_1930042.html
Drink one (if you haven't had it yet), save one, and trade one. Think about something you want that's of a similar price, similar distribution (hot limited release that hit distribution such as Black Note, brewery-only release that isn't too rare such as some bigger Hill Farmstead ones, etc.), and ask for it. Everything that sucks about trading encapsulated in one sentence, well done.
750 or 375? Just trying to figure out how much womens beach volleyball I'm going to have to watch to get this trade done.
I recently finalized a trade in which I sent 2 4 packs of Black Note for 2 Cherry Ryes and 1 Birth of Tragedy. I believe both parties were happy with the trade.
