Charlotte's NoDa Brewing & The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery Take Silver at GABF

I know most of us in Charlotte recognize how great these two breweries are, but it's cool to see them acknowledged by the industry's best. OMB's Mecktoberfest and NoDa's Coco Loco both took silver in their styles.

I wouldnt have been surprised if CoCo LoCo took a gold, honestly.

Speaking purely in terms of how the beer tastes, I wouldn't either -- but remember that the judges are judging the beer not just on taste, but style. I have to think that they chose not to award a gold in Robust Porter because Coco Loco deviates from the style a bit (primarily due to the coconut).

Aren't you even more eager to try Mecktoberfest now?

Awesome news, I just downed some Mecktoberfest last night! Quality beer, stupid drinkable.

Im seriously surprised that OH and Foothills didnt win anything. I thought they didnt even enter.
