Keep looking. You'll find them!
If I'm picking up a sub $5 bomber, its gonna be Port's Wipeout or Alesmith's IPA. Almost never get Hop Stoopid...just sayin'
When I seldom do, the 8% lures me in...then I damn myself for not choosing wiser
Smuttynose Baltic Porter at $4 is a STEAL!
Lagunitas anything = awesome
Harpoon 100 barrel series is worth the $5
Goose Island Sofie is deff under priced! (don't tell anyone)
SN harvest bombers for 4-5$ are a steal.
Another plug for Lagunitas
That's only in Quebec, where you'll find literally a handful of American beers available. Almost all the beer available in stores will be from Quebec.
not in the city, mang
They do...its a julian code...first 3 numbers of the code on the bottle indicate the day of the year it was bottled...
Ninkasi isn't too bad at 3.99 first most of their year round offerings
I'd have to say:
Foothills ( Hoppyum is freaking awesome and I believe it was $4-5 when I was in Winston-Salem )
New Albanian (around 5 bucks for both Hoptimus DIPA and Yakima Rye IPA, a lot of others are also priced low)
and of course Lagunitas
Lagunitas bombers are $3.59 at my local grocery store. All of them, every day. I don't think you'll find a better bomber value than that anywhere.
Lagunitas hands down
entering thread blind, so not sure what has been said before. First thing that comes to mind:
And a strong "no sir" for the guy above who said "Rogue", even jokingly -- it's not nice to joke about things that contribute to others' misery.
Going to look back at the thread... blind guess is probably 15 "Lagunitas" replies before this one.
edit: I was wrong by over a factor of two... wow. Lagunitas love showing up strong in this thread.
I mention it over and over to people, but the best bang (not ABV, but actual quality) for your buck if you are within a distribution region is Sheaf Stout. 25+oz for usually $2.99 to $3.99. When I first moved to CA (when it used to be available there), I would have four or five of these on hand at any time.
Stone and Lagunitas are the obvious answers, but dont sleep on the New Belgium Lips of Faith series. I just got Cascara quad for 5.99 last night, and have gotten fresh hop ipa, super ipa, chocolate stout, and peach porch for the same price.
Couple years back I was in Montreal and my head nearly exploded when I was in a bottle shop and saw all of the Unibroue bombers 2 for $8.99. Wish I had bought more than I did!
Like most of the above posts, I go with Smuttynose, Lagunitas and Stone. Wish Great Divide would be a little cheaper here on LI, love me some Yeti.
Lagunitas hop stoopid, wilco tango foxtrot and cappuccino stout
Lagunitas HOP STOOPID every time.
another great deal. really enjoyed the wipeout
I see Long Trail Double Bag for $3.99 per bomber. It's hard for me to imagine that someone living between NYC and Boston could find a better beer, in a bomber, at a better price.
Yeah that's not an uncommon price in Quebec. But they do exclude Terrible and 17.
Berkshire Brewing and Lagunitas
Nice wish they were that cheap here!
Not around here, and I live as close as you can. RIS and the other higher ABV brews (Holidale, Rasp. Barleywine) are $6 minimum and often $7, the others are $4 minimum and usually $4.50. Still a great deal, but I think you're quoting 2008 prices.
Berkshire Brewing Co. Fantastic beer and it only costs $4 a bomber in a shop near me. They only do bombers and growlers, although they have cans on the way this summer!!
Agreed. All very respectable brews at reasonable prices.
I agree that all hop-centric beers should have a bottled on date. In fact, it should be law. We need to get the Congress to do something. Oh wait, that would take years.
Being 15 miles from the brewery helps!
Wow, no love for Firestone Walker? $4 DBA and UJ
That and Hop Rod Rye all day long.
I agree with Berkshire Brewing, pretty good price on pretty damn good beer!
green flash barley wine paid 5 or 6 $s in chicago and 2.99 for a deschutes black butte bomber in stl
It really bugs me when people list the same exact responses others have already listed in threads like this. When I have an interest in the replies to what the OP has asked it makes reading through the thread almost annoying having to filter through multiples of the same answers. Why not just utilize the "Like" button if you agree with what someone says but have nothing new to add to the conversation yourself? After all, thats what its there for.
My post was a multiple and you liked it? Strange...
Another Laguntitas vote. $4.29 for bombers of Hop Stoopid, Maximus , a little Sumpin' wild, WTF...ect, by far best bang for the buck.
The SN Hemisphere and Estate ales are good too, $4 for 24oz bottles!
You're right. My mistake. I just corrected it though.
By the way, I agree with Berkshire Brewing, pretty good price on pretty damn good beer!
Phillips Brewing Company from Victoria BC. They're not well known but they do a few beers in bombers -:
Amnesiac Double IPA - around $5.50 canadian, Hoperation Tripel Cross Belgian IPA - around $5, Longboat Chocolate Porter $5 roughly. If you can, check them out! They do a lot more beers in bombers and their smaller bottles are great too.
Foothills....been drinking a lot of Hoppyum lately at 3.99
Weird. I thought Canadian beer prices were supposed to be outrageously high compared to the states. But I can't think of a single store where I could walk in with five bucks and leave with any one of those bottles.
