To my BA friends up north. My friend will be working at the Garrick Centre before coming to Chicago (my home town). Any recommendations on a nearby bottle shop? Also what should he grab? I am just asking him to grab 4/5 bottles. Have no idea what might be available.
    Cheers!

Ouch, they are all owned by the government and are as good as you expect a government entity to be. Portage & Arlington is the best location by there, although Osborne & Grant locations are good.

As for beers? The selection is thin here. Right now if you can get them: Fort Garry Java Stout, Half Pints Saison de la Centure Flechée, Half Pints Le Temps Noir (BA Stout, released Sat will be available for a limited time), Flying Monkeys BNL Stout & hmmm... I'll get back to you on what other beers are stellar. We have cheapish Rochefort 10, Orval & Chimay Rouge...
  3. A lot better than 10 yrs ago but still pretty poor beer selection, every store is almost the same.

A few decent beers I've found on various trips - Half Pints, Muskoka, Flying Monkeys, Fort Garry (Kona Stout) - if you're just looking for something different I'd go with something from them
