I suspect the evil influence of the Pour Fool in this. Not sure what other possible explanation there can be?

(OK. And maybe Libbey as well, given the Parkway's 2nd place position in this poll).

The ghosts of Brian Tracy and Penny LeGate will rise up and exact severe retribution for such a blatant malfeasance.

    (If they are dead.)

It's all about begging for votes on facebook. These contests are stupid.

So true. My guess is most of the folks on BA are too young to remember this, but when the GABF first started out, they used to have a "peoples choice" award each year for the most popular brewery and beer. To no great surprise, Samuel Adams actively campaigned and canvassed the room trying to get people to vote them in. My understanding is that they were good natured about it and acted like it was all a big joke, until SA started using the results from the outcome in their ad campaign ("SA voted best brewery and SA lager voted best beer by popular acclaim at the annual GABF, two years running!" - or maybe it was three years running, I can't recall now). Not surprisingly, SA's antics caused quite a bit of animosity, and the organizers got rid of the annual "people's choice" award.

Lesson learned (at least at the GABF).

Yup, pretty much every brewery, brewpub, and bar I follow on FB has had at least 1 post asking to vote for them. I don't bother to vote. Democracy sucks.
