The problem is when line cutters appear. The 2011 CFH release, this was a big issue. Last year they passed out tickets much earlier and it wasn't a problem. Also, they had nearly 2x as many bottles so showing up as early and the fine line cutters (there are alwasy a few who sneak in) didn't have a big impact. As for a big party? Alesmith line releases were great for being able to drink in line. During CFH release (really the emphasis is the Renaissance event) there are some people drinking. But Ivan has asked there not to be as the place is right along a busy road, and police did come by to check out the line. It would suck for Ivan to get in trouble and possibly have to shut down the event just because some people cannot wait a little bit to drink beer.
