http://mybeerbuzz.blogspot.com/2013/01/sierra-nevada-to-release-barrel-aged.html says keg only so far BOTTLES PLEASE!
Ohio yikes. Isn't there a petition on the board to change that law? I think i read it somewhere on BA the other day. Hopefully they get on that sooner than later.
dont quote me on this but arent they having it @ EBF? narwhal is prolly my favorite imperial stout, im sure the BA version must be equally as amazing.
Yeah, State Rep has also agreed to sponsor a bill. But that also happened last year before it was taken out. Hopefully this is the year though.
I'm loving how much ABV they are gaining on these barrel aging projects. I will definitely try to make it up to Chico to try this bad boy with my hommies. Loved the regular Narwhal, I have high hopes for this, especially after enjoying the BA Bigfoot.
Please stop bothering people. This is very obviously the beer releases forum, and is a post about a beer release. Also, ISO when it's bottled... SUPER EXCITE! Narwhal is awesome.
http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/ohio-house-bill-356.46552/ Fight the good fight! Sign the petition they link to at the end of the thread on change.org
Given trends this makes sense (seem to be throwing everything into a barrel these days - not that I'm complaining). I shall partake.
Sadly, no bottles this year, and probably not next year either. We only made about 20Bbl of this so every ounce of it went into kegs, and those kegs will probably only see festivals and super special events... events like EBF! Cheers! -Bill
lets hope the time in the barrels has mellowed the rough edges of Narwhal. (which is exactly what i expect BA Expy to be).
That really is a crime. In WI high ABV beers have the same low tax as low ABV beers, where as wines and other spirits are taxed at higher rates depending on the ABV. It's cool and all, but every single day the news has some one getting arrested for their 5,6,7,8,9,ect OWI.
I know D: Not sure if you heard the news, but hopefully at some point this year or next the ABV cap will be upped to 21%. http://www.change.org/petitions/the...=url_share&utm_campaign=url_share_before_sign
They're probably one of a very select few that actually know and report the true abv of a beer like this. I'd wager most just estimate or use less precise gravity readings. Then again maybe SN only uses extremely wet barrels...
